I don't really ever look at it once we get it tuned to whatever channel we need for the event/ride. Still very happy with it in that position.

Agreed. That was a huge factor in our design.

The mount isn't affected at all by the airbags. The flange turns downward and does not protrude outward. That being said, you could definitely mount something on there that would be a problem. Having the flexibility to mount larger devices (ex. iPad) when solo is great. Then, if a passenger...

Great! It's only available in textured black powder coat. We just show the raw versions on the product page so it's more clear what the product actually consists of since it provides more contrast against the dash.

Maybe clean has a different meaning to you, but something that doesn't require drilling any holes in the truck, keeps gear out of the field of view, is extremely sturdy, and blends in to the truck, is clean in our definition. Seeing it in textured black may help your understanding.
