Yesterday I stopped for gas restarted the motor and the steering was fine . It will last for 15 min. and it will start getting tight steering straight . Turn in a bend it the road let go of the wheel and it keeps turning does not return to center .

This is getting worse I drive for 1/2 hr and the steering gets tight It's not returning back to center Turn a little let go of the wheel and it keeps making the turn. Couple times I turn off the motor and restart and it's ok for a awhile This

You can go to the hardware store and get a stainless hyme joint and a longer bolt

I have a buddy who is a Chevy Trany Tech for 30 years If it is low mileage He will just replace the bad part . Some stealerships will replace the part and charge you or the insurance for a rebuilt . 7k I doubt there is anything worn out . Clunking to me sounds like a transfer case issue .

I bought on of those I did not use it It would take half hour to drain out that hose it comes with . I suck the oil out the dipstick No mess no drain pan and don't even get under the truck 😊
