I went through the grommet by the steering column. Ground right above where the grommet is, positive to the pre-wired #2 (IIRC) overhead switch. This is on a raptor, don't think other models have the switches.
On the raptor there was plenty of room in the grommet, there is a little nub / space...
some aluminum flat bar and an M8 tap from home depot has helped me mount things on the molle panels without drilling into the panels themselves.
Bracket is the best solution for sure, but when one isn't available I'd always go that route vs drilling the panels directly.
Multiple ways of...
It's currently raining outside. I'll get some more detailed photos for you this weekend when weather permits.
As for the questions I can answer right now,
2. - Yes the sliders lock in the extended position. They have a little bit of play from side to side when fully extended and locked if you...
Finally got my bed slide installed, along with some test fitting of my fridge and other items. Very strong slides. I was able to stand on them when they were collapsed in the bed of my truck. Install was straight forward. I like how low profile they are and the efficient use of space.
I was...
I don't have the equipment to measure it, but I'd guess not great. I know there are issues with where I placed it, but I use my radio a hand full of times. a year when on trips with friends.
I have other stuff I mount on the bed of my truck on these trips that I wanted to keep clear of. I may...
i used an adjustable wrench. I added a string to it and tied it to my wrist (important!!!) so that i wouldn't lose it down between the cab and bed.
I then used some gorilla tape or similar, put the nut in the wrench, laid the tape over the back side of the nut & jaws of the wrench to hold it...
I had similar symptoms on one of my other vehicles when a rodent chewed on a couple wires. Was a pain to trouble shoot / diagnose and was very intermittent. Didn't chew all the way through, but just enough to cause all sort of sputtering, cutting out and error codes. Mostly cylinder pressure...
Looks good! Good luck running the wire. It's not horrible.. easier than breaking through the front firewall, at least for me.
I added my GMRS antenna like this:
I used this bracket and some creative use of bolts, multiple nuts to create stand offs and locknuts...
I get this when towing. I usually click OK and it goes away. Everything is working fine. Only happens for me when something is plugged in, so figured it's a slight voltage fluctuation that is triggering something.
Will check with my dealer to see if there is a module update as well next time I...
I don't want to tie up two perfectly good 15A circuits on what is effectively a 6-10 amp load. I ended up going with the below. It takes in a single 7-28v input and splits it into two outputs that can be toggled between by cycling power within 1 sec.
It's pricey, but pretty specific and...
Looks good. Too bad nacho doesn't publish the lux measurements (that I could find). That'd be a useful comparison. I'm going to grab 4 of the amber backlight / white scene lights for my AAL bed rails. Just need to figure out a solution to toggle between - off / backlight / on - with one of the...
This is a potential fix for any issues with fatigue.

The government doesn't dictate engineering. They specify fuel mileage (in this case) and emissions requirements. Agree or disagree with such requirements, the manufacturers then engineer to meet it.
Not sure how fuel mileage requirements become "the government dictates oil viscosity". I mean...
I remember struggling with it. I don't remember what I did to eventually get it in, but it I do remember it wasn't anything beyond more pressure. Good luck!
I wouldn't grind. It was tough. I had to use both hands pressing extremely hard and it took a long while. I can't recall if I ended up using a piece of wood to help, but I would try something like that before grinding away at anything.
I may have popped it in before installing on the truck so I...
