It's a normal thing. If you want to see it act different try changing modes. It will act differently in ECO, Normal and Sport and skip a gear if it doesn't think it needs to be there. Think of truckers with their 18 or 36 speed manual transmissions. If they don't need to spend half a second...
I've got the same problem. I've found the if I switch to using the FM radio for a couple minutes then switch back CarPlay audio comes back up.
It was worse with my iPhone 15. There were several places around town where CarPlay would just disconnect altogether. At least that doesn't happen...
