Reddit has real good info on 2.3mpc specifically with high oil temp. Talk's about computer algorithms, and Dealership mechanics calling Ford headquarters and finally Ford engineers saying it is not actually that high of a temp and nothing to worry about. GOOD NIGHT IRENE!
Nerd, Is a mobile mechanic that did my recall. He was happy to answer all questions being a self proclaimed nerd. Like shifting into 2 high while in slippery mode it allows you to do it, but he said it's not a good idea because it may re-engage 4 high at a bad time and damage the transfer case!
Nomadic Ranger, The oil temperature is determined by cylinder head temperature among others I don't recall but if you're still concerned. My mechanic said if you're towing up a steep grade give it less throttle otherwise let'her buck. P.S. nerdy mechanic likes 2.3 MPC in the truck but not for...
The 2.3 MPC doesn't have a oil temperature sending unit. The computer generated reading is bogus. Fords engineers and my nerdy Ford Dealership mechanic told me so. Personally I don't even pull the gauge up anymore.
I put the sticker on trailer tongue, drove to a huge empty parking lot, followed the prompts to make specific turns. I was offered a min or max rear turn radius, I chose max. Drove home and attempted a reverse 90 into my driveway using the console dial to turn steering wheel and the darn thing...
I've heard lineX is twice the thickness of other spray in applications. I would have chosen it if I went that route. But from my experience the Ranger bed mat from Ford is a solid 10 out of 10!
Very flexible plastic with cush, comes rolled up and reverted to it's shape nicely, all mounting holes nicely molded in, came with a roll of double stick tape but I didn't use, its Ridgid enough to hold to the metal perfectly with screws only, material is about 3/16" thick.
Yup,no cross traffic alert because it would go off constantly sensing the trailer. Trailer plugged in deactivates lane centering. My lane keeping still nudges me back into my lane while towing, experienced it first hand with a 50mph crosswind !
The 2.3 MPC doesn't have a oil temp sending unit, the computer just makes it up and gives bogus high temps. Don't worry about it say the Ford engineers and that's the rest of the story.
Found this on reddit. Oil temperature is a algorithm taken from coolant temperature. It's the computer's error. Sounds good to me. I will bring the screenshot with me to my Dealership.
Read Garman post on his 2025 2.3L his reached red on oil temp gauge and then flashed 260 degrees. I don't have any grades near me like he was driving, but when I noticed my oil temperature at 3/4 on my first freeway drive I pulled into a rest area and let it idle in park for 3 minutes and...
You don't have a 2.3L even, let alone the new for 2025 Modular power cylinder (MPC) architecture. Gauges are designed to run at halfway correct. 2/3rds or 3/4s is abnormal. If it were a airplane it would be grounded.
My 2025 Ranger vertical oil temperature gauge reads on the high side of half way also at freeway speeds. No hills and 40 degrees F. Around town it reads half way. This my be inherite to the new for 2025 2.3L dual fuel system (combining port and direct injection). This is something that needs to...
