Thanks, getting a new engine put in my 2021 (50k miles, bad rod bearing, 5k full syn. oil changes at dealer) and I think I will send the oil out for some peace of mind after the repair. Maybe first and second oil change, then once a year after.
Really though the clock doesn't start until the truck is in the shop. Not the dealers fault, they didn't build it. Ford's engineers and their parts manufacturers are to blame.

Jason posted to my initial post on it. Added the photo here though. Foreman said the 2.3L Eco is one of Ford's most reliable engines and said it is super rare for a long block replacement. Said first he ever seen with a rod bearing issue.
I would give em a shot at the repair before trying to buy it back but you were also probably lucky enough to not pay an ADM too though.

That said, what a coincidence that a tech at the dealer my truck is in had his engine replaced at 57k on his 2021 Ranger as well. I am guessing those pandemic years QC loosened up some. No where else in the Ranger5G forum has it been mentioned about engine...
