She's pretty awesome! And she's a cleaner welder than I am! She likes the art of it, I like angle grinders and sizzled bacon. Neither of us have any formal education on the subject so we took an intro to welding class at the Hazard Factory (Link: HERE).
Days before her custom-build Ranger...
Well, I used to have my own garage all set up for boutique detailing as that's been my side business for a while, but that was before downgrading to a condo so now my personal detail gear & tools are scattered between multiple garages and locations.
The pics in this thread are of Kathleen's...
We installed a set of Weather Tech "no-drill" mudflaps on the Ranger yesterday.
Feedback for the flaps themselves:
- Came with very high-grade stainless steel hardware
- Well designed flaps which are rugged and look to last a long time
- Detailed and complete instructions so that install could...
Small update to our thread as the Ranger has been incredibly reliable, unlike our free time to do projects on it.
Weathertech mudflaps were a birthday present to Kathleen and we haven't even had time to install them, let alone wash the truck. Fancy tray and cupholder liners in Electric Blue...
Will you be using their High Zinc oils?
I believe that only comes in their racing lines, but as nobody here seems to want to mention cool-down intervals of the turbo shaft or bearings, it's worth pointing out that, in general, turbocharged applications will want that zinc additive. The Amsoil...
Wojooo! Probably growing up in a nation with elevation variation from -5' to +10' above sea level has something to do with that!
There were definitely some certain-death drop-offs on that roadway. Okay, they were almost exclusively certain-death drops.
Well, if you consider sand paper and clay bar to have the same hardness, surface texture and abrasion, nothing anybody can say or do is going to change your mind. I used a handfull of sand and a huge loogie just this morning when cooking eggs so they wouldn't stick to the pan. Same thing as...
Your opinion on this is something that I would heavily disagree with. The coefficient of friction between the clay and paint with a sufficient lubricant layer is equivalent to what you will have when washing the vehicle.
Now, that is not to say there is zero friction. But what you are...
Great story, Phil! Those bears...... Hidden Lake trail had the second half closed due to a grizzly bear catching and eviscerating a goat on the path.
All we dealt with first hand was a mother goat wanting to punt people off the path on the upper Grenel lake and glacier trail. Approximately 5...
All we parked next to was Going To The Sun road in Glacier National Park, Montana.
It was difficult to get pics parked next to the near vertical drop-offs or canyon walls, so the second pic will have to suffice from the Red Bus tour.
Hi all, this is the build thread for Kathleen's Ranger SCAB. We're sort of making this account together as we build her truck up. I'm Ryan, the bf and come from a background of high WHP imports and most recently building big block pre-'60's hot rods and a lifetime of boutique detailing from...
