I think he meant when they will officially announce it - meaning showing the world what it will look like, etc. The "launch" is when dealers will actually have them in stock to sell. The announcement should come way before that - it should come before production starts, but with things the...
The article says this is a Lariat..... And it says it is obvious this is a NA unit due to the side marker lights which are only required here apparently.
Maybe I won't be getting a new Ranger after all...... I honestly like the looks of the 5G quite a bit better than this one.
If that is indeed what it will look like, I'm a bit underwhelmed. I like the separate steel bumper on the 5G - was hoping they'd do the same thing on the 6G. I guess time will tell. At this point, the only thing that would get me to trade my 5G is a PHEV model, otherwise, I'll plan on...
On item that might (or might not) make it more feasible is the statement about it being a "heavy duty" version of the Ranger with additional towing capacity, more ground clearance and beefier suspension.
Time will tell, but this would be a win for the US market if it actually happens....
If things go similar to the 5G launch, vehicles will be in dealers in limited quantities in about 4-6 weeks. For the 5G, they started production in Mid December of 2018, and I saw a few (some not for sale) in dealers in mid to late January of 2019. I would say they should have some reasonable...
Yeah, Pro Power on board generator would be a go to item for me as well. I did not want to buy first year either so we are thinking around the same timeline. I was hoping it might be 2025 (they introduce the PHEV with the initial rollout) but I'm not holding my breath at this point. I'm...
Rear seat that folds down completely
Crew cab 6' bed option
This is a weird one - chrome bumpers without having to get the chrome package (I don't like painted bumpers)
All LED lighting (no Halogens)
PHEV option (this is what will make me trade my 2019)
Can you post where you saw that official announcement? I've heard lots of rumors but never seen an official statement saying they won't have a crew cab long bed option for the 6G Ranger.
I'm guessing that the Maverick since it is a unibody is under different regs than the Ranger is. If you look at the Ranger Raptor it does not appear to have an integrated bumper - I'd expect that same thing on the NA spec Ranger.
My understanding of the PHEVs is that they run on battery until it runs out of charge OR it needs additional power for doing things like climbing hills, etc. In those cases, the gas engine would come on to supplement the battery motors. I don't think you can manually switch between them, the...
Just curious what your reasons are for eliminating the 2.3? I've found it to be a VERY capable engine, especially coupled with the 10 speed. It continues to amaze me what a small 4 cylinder is capable of.
I honestly think that is a bit of a justification. The chips they are using are old designs, but they are tried and tested and is most likely one reason why they use them rather than use new, unproven designs.
Chip makers will make whatever customers want to buy, especially in the volumes that...
