  1. Informational - Science / History Behind In Situ Hydrogenated DLC Coatings for ICE and Trans Applications

Well they were charged by the FTC for making false claims of improved engine performance and reduced engine wear so there's that. DuPont came out years after introduction with a statement claiming that Teflon/PTFE had no useful function in a motor oil and that they would not sell it to anyone...
  2. Informational - Science / History Behind In Situ Hydrogenated DLC Coatings for ICE and Trans Applications

And apparently they still exist. In fact the demand is so high that they're sold out of every variation they offer: Slick 50 😂 I'll stick to my regimen of 5,000 km oil changes using factory oil filters and quality synthetic oils that meet Ford's specifications (WSS-M2C961-A1)
  3. Will Fox "Tuned by Ford Performance" (2019-2023) Shocks and coil overs fit 2025 Ranger Lariat?

The '24 rear shocks are outboard vs inboard on the '23 and older. I think the valving would be significantly different on the older model to control sway, given the increased leverage of being inboard.
  4. ISO advice on 2.7 V6 break-in plan

That's pretty much what I did for the first 1,000 km. It's had a few WFO runs since then.
  5. Beer of the Day Thread

Lech Premium, a pale lager from Poland. It's smooth and refreshing. One of my favorites.
  6. Anyone use crank to prime prior to starting engine after changing the oil?

You're not dry starting the motor after an oil change or after winter storage. There is a residual oil film on all mating parts and it does it's job for the 3 seconds it takes for full prime. Why prolong the process by trying to prime with the starter motor. That doesn't make sense. I've only...
  7. ProCal Tune and 10R60 Transmission

Actually it was an interesting read, made easy by the quality grammar and sentence structure. Sorry to hear about your Mustang experience. Mine is the opposite at at 13 years and counting.
  8. Post Lift Install Vibration

You're about to be included in the banned by Ranger/Hobbit club. Many members in the club.
  9. Post Lift Install Vibration

Ignore the advice of post #2. He is wrong with his assessment. The vibration started when the rear lift blocks were added. It's the change in the driveshaft angle that is causing the vibration. That is the area you need to focus on.
  10. J&L Bronco 2.7 Oil Separator Installed

After having installed the J&L (Bronco 2.7) plug & play catch can I quickly realized that the location made checking the contents a pita. J&L sent me new fittings and I went to work on relocating it. These guys are great to work with. They need a donor vehicle to confirm fitment. Anyone in the...
  11. J&L Bronco 2.7 Oil Separator Installed

These guys did not offer one iota of proof that the contents freezes. See post #6. If you live in a cold climate, check the contents weekly.
  12. Beer of the Day Thread

In the shop having a Grolsch to celebrate another win by my favorite team.
  13. Beer of the Day Thread

Forgotten Lake blueberry Ale. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5. Pretty smooth for 7.1% Serve cold.
  14. Beer of the Day Thread

Thanks, it went very well 👍 20-20 in both eyes now.
  15. Mystery Foam Pad- Dealer Going To Pull The Bed - Really ?

Yes it was mentioned in a much earlier thread that there was no part# for it. There must be a ton of them in the landfills though based on the number of members here that removed them. I decided to leave it in place and wait for confirmation of its purpose. I figured it would be for noise...
  16. Weird Discoloration on Trim Piece

Jeep owners tend to be on the squirrelly end of the spectrum.
  17. Had the RR. traded in. Ordered a XLT FX4 2.7. Hoping to have better luck

The 10R60 is the most well sorted automatic transmission I've experienced, of the many vehicles I've owned over the years.
