  1. "Build" complete

After 9 different F100/150's and a Ranchero over the last 50+ years it was time to downsize to a mid-size truck. The 2.7 was a must have so I went with the base package XLT. Over the last 4 months I've been adding accessories. OEM bed mat, tailgate cover and mud flaps Rough Country floor mats...
  2. 1st Tow with the 2.7

Picked up a parts car last weekend and was surprised how well the truck did. Trailer and car combined weight was about 2k# and another 500# of parts in the bed. Filled the tank at the destination and there was a good bit of idle time while loading. Used tow/haul mode. No trailer brakes and the...
  3. 4D Tech ASS Eliminator back in stock

Ordered mine today. $89.99 after military discount and free shipping.
  4. MPG getting better

Took a road trip the other day and got 21.8 (21.4 hand calculated). MPG since iI drove it off the lot is setting at 20.1. Still not as good as the F150 I traded with the same drive train (2.7/10speed/3.73).
  5. Ultra simple front headrest mod

The front nonadjustable front headrests are at an odd angle and too far forward for my liking. In the winter I usually wear a felt hat with a full 2 1/2" brim which the headrest would knock off. I rotated the drivers headrest 180 degrees and problem solved.
  6. 2.7 MPG

First road trip with the new truck. 21.1 mpg isn't great but not too bad considering the engine only has 700 miles on it and winter blend gas. I did stop for fuel about half way and hand calculated mileage was 22.8 but that may be a fluke. My old F150 2.7 usually got 22-24 mpg the same round trip.
  7. New tonneau / tailgate seal after car wash

First car wash after installing Willmoso tonneau and Keko tailgate seal. Just a little water in the rear corners after 6 passes of high pressure spray across the tailgate. Should stay dry when driving in heavy rain.
  8. New to Ranger but not Ford

After a long line of F100/150's and a Ranchero I decided to downsize to a Ranger 2.7 FX4 with the basic tow package. I'm an analog guy so am still struggling with all of the digital stuff. This is my first small truck and so far it looks to be a good choice. Have added my normal accessories and...
  9. Willmoso retractable tonneau cover

Finished the installation of a Willmoso tonneau today. I've seen variations of this advertised under at least 3 different brand names. Once installed it functions properly and the slats don't flutter at highway speeds like the Leer Jack Rabbit on my previous truck. The instructions leave a lot...
