The tailgate on my Ranger Raptor doesn't fully clear the Thule XTR Pro 2 in any of the positions. What rack do you have and which positions does it clear in (flat, lowered)?
I was waiting for the toppers to come back into stock from Ford now that j-braces are available again, however this message now appears:

For anyone that has installed a shell - has the weight necessitated doing anything with the rear spring rate? I'd likely be going with the Ford branded Leer Cabhigh.
