I popped off the side marker light on the drivers side, and used T Tap Connectors to splice into the line that powers the markers. Very easy to do. They just make the Forscan modification.
I tried this just as an experiment, and it worked so well I left it on there. I used a piece of 3/4 water pipe insulation and just double sided taped it in place. It is very flexible, allowing you to form it to the curves/gaps in the tailgate. Works great, all for less then 10 bucks.
I wired my grill lights to my side marker lights, and then used Forscan to enable the side markers to come on with the DRLs. It works great. I also wired the amber backlight portion of my fogs to the same circuit . It looks really good when you unlock the truck.?
I used my points to get mine. I think it works great, I have about 20 lbs of stuff in mine without any issues. But to be honest, the most off-roading I will be doing is maybe climbing a curb! I had one on my last 150 Raptor and was totally satisfied with that one too. The only issue I see is...
I removed the factory graphics package and replaced them with these from Rocky Mountain. I thought the Orange/Red outline looked better with my Shelter Green. I did the tailgate inlay also.
I have the orange red color coming from Rocky Mountain Graphics. Expect delivery tomorrow. I will post a picture after install. I got the Raptor side graphic from them also.
Did you get an answer as to what changes need to be made in Forscan to enable the Marker lights to be on with DRLs. I would very much like to make this modification as well.
