I would guess that making people add a $700 running board package is more about increasing profit profit margin on each vehicle sold more so than any other reason. This especially makes sense if orders are slow on this truck. They have to make more on each unit sold if sales projections are weak.
It's not surprising that the 2024 isn't really attracting many pre-orders. Other then the Raptor, there isn't any "big excitement" or "gotta-have-it" feature on the new Ranger vs the previous one or the competition. Yes, the interior is nicer, but that's really the only advantage seen with the...
I’ve been trying to figure that out as long as this guy has been posting on these boards. I guess the Ranger has fake 2WD whatever that means. He’s also likely upset they are not offering the option of bias-ply tires and an 8-track stereo to go along with the halogen headlights.
The Fox suspension and all terrain tires are much better on the Tremor. The Tremor also has about a 1” lift. FX4 comes with smaller P rated tires unless you want to opt for LT tires. I don’t know about 2024, but the FX4 shocks were junk compared to the Fox ones.
They have one less choice this year then last "Race Red" is deleted. They also have gotten rid of three levels of XLT. They no longer have a mid and high. I suppose this is to package more things at the base to justify the higher price. Heated mirrors seem to have gone away as well on the XLT...
Toyota put a lot of effort into this to remain #1 in midsized trucks and conquest new buyers. Ford offers an updated midsized truck for Ford guys with blue blood. They look at this market differently because it's a big deal for Toyota and for Ford it's just to use up excess manufacturing space...
As far as the 5G model is concerned... Absolutely. I have no idea how the 6G FX4 will have it's suspension tuned, but my 2019 FX4 floated like a 1976 LTD going down a highway with some heaves in it. It also had excessive nose dive during heavy breaking. It felt top heavy and leaned on curvy...
I own a 2022 Tremor and had a 2019 FX4 before it. I don't have huge issues with the new one, but it does seem to be lacking for how long they have been promising this revolutionary new Ranger. It seems like a 5G with a major face-lift, new plastics inside and a slightly wider track. It's fine...
Of course they want to sell the highest end models they can. It's all about ATP "actual transaction price" when it comes to trucks and if they can upsell they will. There is loads of profit in a Raptor. There is a good chance of a Tremor for next model year, but the focus is on the high end...
I don't see the Tremor coming anytime before the 2025 model year. They will upsell Tremor customers to the Raptor as long as there is demand. Things like a Tremor package will be added in future model years to freshen up the line. It's sort of like they added the Tremor in 2021 and Splash in...
The much lower sales for 2022 and 2023 have more to do with Bronco production then nobody wanting a Ranger. The line was shifted to 70% Bronco 30% Ranger production by the start of 2022. I'm not saying that people knowing a new model was coming didn't soften demand, however Ford just wasn't...
The reason why those are integrated and the Ranger is not is because like the 5G this is still a global model. The keypad is really only a thing on North American products at least when it comes to trucks.
Yeah they showed that because the Tremor is no longer available. Probably a "silent" good-bye to the model. It's too bad too because I own a 2022 Tremor and it's a great compromise between off road capability and pickup tow/haul capacity.
Well last year's was a SuperCab, but still if you compare the 2023 base XL SuperCrew to the '24 it has gone up about $3000. That's an outrageous increase.
"The standard single-range electronic shift-on-the-fly (ESF) four-wheel-drive system can be upgraded to a part-time system with low range."

It's not that 4x4 auto is only on the Raptor, but the standard 4x4 no longer has a standard 2 speed transfer case. You now have to pay extra when you get a 4x4 if you want 4L. I kid you not.
The transmission shifter in the XL and XLT is the mechanical one straight out of the 5G. Outside of...
Well it's not just no auto 4x4 except on the Raptor, but the standard 4x4 doesn't even have low range anymore. You have to pay extra for that! That is if a Motortrend article I read is accurate.
