My nephew gave me this old ruck sack several years ago. I used it similarly in my LR3, but forgot about it in a box in my garage.
The padding on the back fits perfectly over the headrest without any modifications, and it’s perfect to hold a couple Nalgene bottles, rain jacket, camera, etc…
A buddy bought one from Alibaba for his F150. It took a couple months to get it, but the quality seems pretty good, and it gets the job done.
I think he paid just about as much for shipping as for the topper itself.
Went camping with some friends, put on Eibach 1k lb springs. checked alignment. Filled up with gas multiple times. Did a quick photo shoot with my buddy’s LR3 (used to be mine). Drove to Mena, AR and the Cossatot River today. Getting it dialed for a huge trip out to Vegas, then up to ID, MT, WY...
Thanks!
Man, I’m not sure where to start on the price. I’ve bought so many different parts. All in it’s probably about $1k, but I love how versatile it is.
I checked the Eibach site last week and saw that the new 1000lb springs were finally available, so I pulled the trigger.
I got them installed today, and couldn’t be happier with the results so far. It’s back up to stock height, or maybe even a little higher.
I almost had them install my 2”...

I get a little dust and water, but nothing terrible.
I carry a little Wolfbox blower to blow off the door before I open it if I’ve been in a bunch of dust, and then blow out the inside if needed.
More gets in from all the holes in the bed than the topper.
I thought about that, but it was crooked in driveways, parking lots, everywhere. In fact, I felt the wheel slip out of place when I drove off the lot. Ford told me they couldn’t get to it again for 2 weeks. I took it to Discount Tire 2 days after Ford aligned it and the specs were worse than...
I went through that multiple times with the dealership. I’d get it aligned and the wheel would be crooked again just a few miles down the road.
I ended up going to Discount Tire and they got the alignment done right, and I’ve had zero problems with it in 3 months.
I have Geiser progressive springs on the rear, but I’m sitting a little less than level…so probably 2” of sag in the rear.
I’m thinking about going with the Eibach 1000lb springs when they’re ready. I also have some 1.5” and 1” spacers still to install so I can fit 35” tires.
I need to zero...
