Got mine today finally and went to town on it. Recommended tool should also be a friend with skinny arms and small hands. I could not for the life of me plug the connector back in but I called up a buddy who was able to magically fit both arms in a plug it back in. Whole install took me like 6...
Ordered mine almost 4 weeks ago, shipped 2 weeks ago and the shipping finally stopped showing pending late last week. Still no idea when they’ll come but excited to get them on. I want to have a combined oil change and amber light install so hopefully they’ll come soon cause I’m about due for my...
Ok, I know people have been posting about their issues with the front parking sensors, but it’s getting ridiculous for me. Before it was always my front left one and now it’s my front right one. I’ve cleaned them as much as I can but I can’t get them to stop beeping at me, unless I turn them off...
I don’t really care about breaking off the piece. As someone who’s worked in lighting and generally understands this kind of stuff. I know that it’s just an alignment pin for manufacturing. Great to have if you’re assembling these light heads all day, but not really needed.
Ordered mine a week ago and still waiting on it to ship. Feeling some major fomo right now lol. Glad to see that multiple people have done the install though
For real. At my company I like looking at dumb reviews. There was one guy who said he couldn’t fit his battery in the product and had marketing freaking out for a quick second. Turns out he was trying to put it in in a really dumb orientation. Imagine trying to plug in a usb port perpendicular...
@Signature Lux thank you guys for being so transparent and communicative. I’ve been waiting for the chance to finally upgrade to amber DRLs and I was almost to the point of making the PCB myself haha. I just ordered mine last night and excited (and terrified) for the install
It looked like the gap was due to the aluminum actually being raised up, which is strange. If I had to guess, the other lower surface doesn’t have as smooth of a finish and it just the raw casted metal so they only have to machine out the areas where the led and the screw boss are. Really just...
Just watched your YouTube video! Gives me the ok to go ahead and buy. Funny seeing some people saying it doesn’t work in some modes haha. Some notes. You are right copper has a better thermal conductivity and allows the heat to get out faster. I’m not sure why they made it raised from the...
Anyone else notice that it always appears to be the same one of the front drivers side? Mine does that too every once in awhile. Literally happened to me the first time the day after leaving the dealership. Ford this should be either a firmware fix or a warranty fix or something. Same with the...
Yeah I recognize most of the circuitry. Based on what I’m seeing though it looks like the voltage may be higher. If I’m reading this right the string voltage is closer to 18V (6 LEDs and ~3V per led) which means they are doing some sort of boosting going on. Looks like there is an NTC for...
Wow this is the most detailed work I’ve seen. Now that I see the light pipe situation it seems really doable. I design custom PCBs and work in lighting. With some proper dimensions and specs I may be able to recreate this PCB with amber LEDs
Very bold of you lol. I just got mine and I don’t think I have the heart or stomach to take apart my headlight rn. There may be a way to adjust the settings of the car in forscan to switch it to using the turn signal LEDs. There is already ambers in there right?
What do you mean? The LED's I chose should be amber to match the raptor look without needing an amber lens. Do you mean to recreate the DRLs in amber too?
I am working on a project right now to make some custom raptor lights for my ranger raptor. I thought it was a shame that the off-the-shelf ones were not really designed to take advantage of the angles and full-size. After some iterative design work and 10+ 3D prints, I think I got all of the...
