  1. Transmission “banging” noise and jerk

I need to press my dealer harder on this. Twice I asked for a trans fluid change but they keep telling me "its too early" or "not needed."
  2. Transmission “banging” noise and jerk

Yup, have this issue also (among others) in my 24 Ranger 2.7 (32,000 miles). Biggest change I made is letting the engine idle down after startup. Take about 45 seconds after a cold start; much less when running errands. Just keep an eye on the RPMs... once they fall, the shift to drive/reverse...
  3. Front End Damage after Deer Strike - Is this a DIY Fix?

Thank you! I'll look up your thread. Good luck with your project. If I decide to try DIY repairs, it won't be until mid spring so I can work without freezing. hahaha
  4. Front End Damage after Deer Strike - Is this a DIY Fix?

Thanks! I was poking around the Ford part sites earlier and saw something similar. Hopefully Ford can help narrow down the parts. Do you know if they are come painted? If this can be a DIY, I'll document it. But I'm waiting for warmer weather. :)
  5. Front End Damage after Deer Strike - Is this a DIY Fix?

Ah! Good point. So, sacrifice the already broken bumper plastic to save the grill. Thank you for that. :like:
  6. Front End Damage after Deer Strike - Is this a DIY Fix?

Awesome! Thanks for the Wikihow article. I was thinking some kind of glue but the plastic weld option might be the solution! Yup, its cracked plastic (no pieces are missing). Thanks for the reply.
  7. Front End Damage after Deer Strike - Is this a DIY Fix?

I had a bit of bad luck last night and struck a deer at about 40 MPH. Thankfully, the damage is all cosmetic. Mechanics appear to be OK; the louvers in front of the radiator are operating normally and there are no liquids leaking. And all the sensors seem to be working too. Headlamp enclosure...
  8. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

First, the disclaimer: Consult with Ford before making any modifications. I DO NOT recommend you use this information to modify your vehicle in any way. You've been warned. I don't think you are "bricked at 3000-lbs" but it might take a little more "effort" to make the connections to the...
  9. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

EDITED 9/18/25, 15:18 EST - I just saw another thread you started and I see where you stated you DO HAVE a tow package. If that is the case, then maybe your test will be different than what I experienced. Sorry to add to any confusion. LOL... I'd be happy to help if I was nearby. This is...
  10. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

I can confirm this is accurate. I have the non-tow package and needed to tap into the center-high mounted brake light signal to get the BOO. Once this was done, the RedArc works brilliantly.
  11. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

This makes logical sense to me! I also saw several comments about the similarities between Bronco and Rangers. This is interesting.... I definitely have the non-tow package (which I think lacks the TRM) and there is indeed a connector that accepts the RedArc brake controller wire harness. The...
  12. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

Did you ever get your brake controller running correctly? I had the exact same issue with a non-tow package Ranger. And I don't think it has to do with the tester. If you still have the issue, I suspect your aren't getting the brake light on/off (BOO) signal.
  13. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

Hey Pezdyspensr (love the name!), I haven't visited this topic in several months and my retention of the research I did since February is spotty. The dealership told me told once a Ranger (without tow package) leaves the factory, there is no way to add it afterward because Ford did not make...
  14. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

Hey there RangerDangerStranger, Not sure if I'm the guy you referring to but, yeah, this was my situation exactly. I looked back in the thread and I guess I failed to report back that I did manage to get my RedArc controller working. I had to find the Brake On-Off signal from the center...
  15. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

I just ordered one of these: Curt Echo In-Line Bluetooth Brake Controller w/ OneControl App I strongly dislike the idea of having to use a phone app and bluetooth technology to use a brake controller but this might be the only option if Ford can't get that BOO line activated. This Curt Echo...
  16. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

Ok, that is good to know. A this point, I'm thinking about tapping into a brake light, maybe even the CHMSL from the BCM. This is what Ford said yesterday, that I don't have a trailer brake module. Just to confirm, the connector you mentioned has 4 wires: Power, Ground, BOO and Blue Trailer...
  17. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

This might not be accurate. I went to Ford service today and was told it can't just be flashed as the module is absent (on non-tow package Rangers). I have an appointment on Monday at different Ford service center for a second opinion.
  18. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

Well, the saga continues... I was reluctant to post tonight but I have a big knot in my stomach. Read on for an update... First, @RangerDangerStranger, you had asked in an earlier post about the Redarc calibration: Yes, I'm near certain the Redarc needs the brake signal (BOO) combined with...
  19. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

Didn’t think so, but thought I’d ask. ??. I could postpone the appointment but I really need to get this TBC issue resolved. I only hope this service visit actually fixes the issue!
  20. wires for trailer brake controller '24 Ranger?

Unfortunately, no. Do you think AutoZone can get that report?
