No child lock doesnt allow to open the door from inside, not to not be able to lock it

I have noticed that when i lock the door with the key fob and also with the lock button in the door my driver side back door doesnt lock but if i open the door the alarm goes on. Did this happen to anyone else and what to do? I just got my Ranger 10 days ago might take a trip to the dealer.
