Curious as well, but my take is that it sounds better than expected and fantastic for the price. I keep the gain low, but it cranks. Especially with the rear seat down.
I think the roof sound deadening would help this A TON. It's just a big job from what I've seen. I wish I would have asked the dealership to do it while they did the recall on the airbags. Thats the move. Bring the material, pay the labor / buy them lunch. So mad I didnt think to do that...
LAST UPDATE: Super happy with how this turned out! There is a slight rattle on the rear window in heavy bass, but I've realized that with the rear seat folded down that goes away and sounds MUCH better anyway. Happy to answer any questions.
Just installed sound deadening in all 4 doors and...
I vaguely recall there being a way to turn off the screen, albeit through multiple taps. I have to go try to find it again in the system. Perhaps the "R" button would preserve that setting as well?
I paid $3500 over a few months back, in NJ. Most still wanted 7.5-10k, so I was happy w 3.5, and got a few dealer discounts on parts and install (bed cover, tune, etc.)
How much space is there under the seat to the top of the speaker? Looks like it would be a very tight fit. And did you bolt in the sub via drilling or just drop it in?
