I'm a little late on this but.....I wouldn't call an OTA a "recall". It's a software update that doesn't require any dealer service bay intervention, it's a software update. It's not as if engine component manufacturing defects have been identified that are causing Ranger engines to grenade at...
For my truck use, daily driver/not work truck/no offroad adventures, I don't understand the need to a cellphone holder due to the infotainment interface and connectivity - I have all cell features available without having to touch the phone once Android Auto has connected up.
With all the decontenting that's been done to Ranger, I am very glad I grabbed a '24 Lariat when I had the chance during Feb of '25. The projector LED's (decontented) are very nice, the park assist (decontented) is a useful feature I'm using several times a month, the leather seating...
Ranger is not designed for E85 use. You will eventually experience problems with rubber and plastic parts that come into contact with fuel. The engine itself is not designed for E85 use, the onboard engine control computer is not programmed for E85 use. You are also actively voiding your Ford...
Funny how the Ranger recalls seems to be, "we want to do this just in case there's a problem" as compared to GM recalls with engines eating them selves in under 5000 miles.....replacement engines grenading in under 1000 miles and transmissions that seize. I'll take the Ford "just in case" recalls.
I have had this happen a couple of times. Both times the issue occurred I was parked with the front of the truck within less than 5 inches of a wall of vines in a parking lot. In both cases the issue resolved after placing the truck in an area with greater front clearance and running 3-4...
That is an interesting read. However I would ask, if the testing is a harsh and complete as claimed, why are the recall items discovered well after production has commenced? This all raises questions about the testing and if it's as complete as claimed?
I got the recall service in my driveway from my local dealer service. They called me last week to schedule the seat inspection and trailer module via their mobile service....they came to me. In and out in about 20 minutes.
Agreed. They've already dropped the headliner once for the airbag issue, now want to do it again for this issue. There's only so many times that you can install, uninstall, install, uninstall etc interior trim before fasteners begin to no longer fasten.
My dealer mobile service just finished the trailer controller and front seat recalls in my driveway....took the tech 15 minutes to do his thing. Very painless with the mobile service.
Of course a bigger tank means you can procrastinate that much longer before tanking up. But that's ok, we all like to add different mods to our trucks.
