I intend to sit this one out. This is recall #5, and maybe Iāll do it with recalls #8-9 ⦠or maybe not. Obviously all manufacturers are having recalls (and I would take mine vs the 880k GM 6.2L V8, 225k Toyota 3.4L V6, or 300k Honda 3.5L V6 recalls, which are engine failures), but as a consumer...
This week we picked up a 2026 Expedition, and it has the turn signal camera functionality built-in. So unlike our Rangers, it functions sans trailering. I would LOVE this feature on my Ranger, and think it could be an OTA software update for sure. Thereās no reason why not. Cāmon Ford.
Thatās a really good point. On my FX-4 the door placard says 30 PSI, however mine was set at 38 when I bought it. I then set it back to 30. When I took it in for the recalls, upon returning I checked my app and it said 38 again. WTH. The dealer must have reset it! Overall I think the truck rides...
Wow, that olā Ranger had quite the run! Iāve owned 4 of them and just sold my ā04 FX4 LII for about a 30% profit after 6 years, definitely a solid investment. Iād say each of the prior ones was similar, however as you know well, the ā25 is a different animal altogether. Will the new one match...
Iāve been a C/D subscriber for 40+ years (and have kept every issue. Weird, I know) and they consistently rate trucks according to car like traits. At least itās consistent with their name, and ethos, I suppose. They recently rated the Tahoe atop the Expedition, for example, whereas Edmunds...
Pretty frustrating to try to have a dialogue when someone refuses to answer the questions. That said, Iāll assume that you have not watched the video. His expectation was that by rebuilding each system his truck would be reliable. Nope.
This probably isnāt the forum to $&*+ talk Rangers. You...
I gather you have never seen Doug DeMuroās (5M subscribers, more than all the legacy brands sum total) video of his Land Cruiser 200 ownership? He purchased it with well under 100k mi. because āyou just canāt kill a Land Cruiser,ā he said. To make a long story short, he ended up spending $18k+...
I prepped it according to instructions using bug N tar remover, but I was thinking about a light sanding using fine grit, which wasnāt per the instructions, however doing that thereās no going back.
Iād like to black out the reflectors. Typically I snicker when people black out the tail lights, etc., however I donāt drive this truck at night (we use the wifeās SUV) so getting rid of that goofy orange reflector on an otherwise blacked out vehicle is desirable. I tried that RustOleum Tint...
Thatās kinda what Iām planning to do too. Iāll probably only keep the truck for 5-10 years anyway (just sold my 21 year old Ranger). It will have perhaps 20k-30k miles on it so Iām hoping that the body doesnāt let go long before the powertrain.
I live on iceberg #13, aka Minnesota, where road salt is practically the official state condiment. As such I have a car wash bay set up in my garage. Looking over my Ranger today it appears that the wheel wells are pretty much fully sealed and I am skeptical that this will be fully watertight...
Heās got to go. Outside of the C suite heās as popular as $25 yellow snow cones at a dog show. Two of my family members are execs plus they work closely with dealers and know well how disliked he is within the organization. That said, the recall avalanche is due to selecting and poorly vetting...
Thatās asking a lot for a 4 cylinder truck to haul over 10,000 lbs., especially if you are going through mountainous terrain. TFL Truck (on YT) will give you a comprehensive review of your truck in precisely these conditions.
Aside from the $2200 price, whatās not to love? We have a ā25 Explorer ST-Line with the 2.3L and it is fine. I have the 2.7L in my ā25 Ranger however, and itās soooo smooth and with noticeably better NVH. Iām actually getting better fuel economy with mine too, no kidding. Best was 28.3 on a...
I know two people who have the 2.7L in their F150s with nearly 200k trouble free miles also. Each guy said he would buy another in a heartbeat, of course.
