Had the spacers installed at a local off-road specialist. In and out in half a day. They also did the alignment and ride height recalibration. I’m pretty sure there wouldn’t be any issues with 295’s on the stock wheels.
Because now the truck thinks the shocks are extended, so the computer is going to stiffen up the compression. Ride quality will be harsher. You need to recalibrate ride height to get the live valve shocks to return to normal compression.
If you didn’t recalibrate the ride height, the lights probably did adjust themselves down to the original level as the truck thinks the front suspension is extended. Once you recalibrate ride height (which you should), the lights will re-adjust to the factory setting. Which will how be high...
It’s interesting you saw such a big decrease. I’m a couple of tanks in on 295/70-17 KO3’s and am only seeing about a half mpg decrease. Was averaging around 17 mpg on the stock tires. Now averaging around 16.5.

I got quoted $565 from a local independent 4x4 specialist to do just the fronts. That includes an alignment. If you are also doing the rears, it may not be that far off. Dealer rates I suspect will be higher as well.

That seems really weird. If I’m tracking your comment that at first it was an inch higher than the rear, and now is about the same measurement as the rear, that means it was +3” after install, and now has settled to +2”. I don’t see how a 24mm spacer induces that unless something is binding...
