Most component systems come with a crossover box for each door. I didn't use the Morel X-over since the B&O has tweeter channels. The cap protects in case the active X-over electronics fail.
See my reply to one of your earlier posts and the one I sent Zaph earlier. I'd recommend that you do your sound deadening, change the speakers and listen to your system before you spend a lot more $$$ and do the amp and other electronics. You may be surprised.
I installed a pair of Morel TEMPO ULTRA 602 6.5" component speakers in the front. The Morel tweeters are 1.25 in. and rated to go down pretty far so I used 22mfd. I think the original tweeters had 33mfd. protectors but they looked like 1 in. diameter tweeters so probably rated higher range...
I'm pretty sure the cap is a bass blocker to protect the tweeter at high volumes. I wired one in with each new tweeter. Do you think that was a bad idea?
It didn't seem to hurt the highs at all. I used high quality 22mfd Non Polarized electrolytic caps per some tables I googled.
I had to...
I installed a pair of Morel TEMPO ULTRA 602 6.5" component speakers for the front and Morel Maximo Coax 6" for the rear doors. I decided to upgrade the rears since I was taking the panels and speakers off for sound deadening insulation anyway. The Maximos are cheap and sound much better than...
I really like my Ranger but I hope this is more than rumor. I would have gladly paid more for a 2.7L or 3L engine when I bought it.
I traded my 09 Malibu that had the V6 engine. When we were looking to buy a new Malibu, about 5 years ago, GM only offered a 4 cyl engine even in the highest...
Looks great! Thanks for the photo.
BTW I had a Hot Pepper Red LXT on order when my dealer made me an end of the month deal I couldn't refuse on an in stock Lariat. I think I still really like the Red better.
My White Platinum FX4 Ranger has the Sport Appearance Package so there is no chrome. I'm looking for tailgate letters that match the Magnetic Gray Trim. Of course, the front bash plate is light gray but that's a long way from the tailgate.
Has anyone with a truck like mine found a close...
Nice. Still waiting for my HP Red truck.
I was considering a roof top tent but may go the same way you did. Is your tent comfortable for 2 people? Manufacturer and model?
I agree; have you found an accurate one?
I have always kept a mechanical tire gage in my cars. I've had TPMS sensors fail on the interstate in two vehicles. With the Corvette it was one of those oh crap moments. I better get off the road now or I'll be losing a $300 run-flat. Replacing the...
Thanks Ford, that's comforting. I guess it's a good thing I use a separate gage too. Now all I need is to find one that's more accurate.
I just downloaded the manual. Might as well start reading it while I impatiently await the arrival of my Ranger. Probably another 8 weeks or so.
Interesting article. A little difficult to do so I hope the tire manufacturers do the work for me before I decided to change tires. I guess the Ford recommendations for the various tires supplied with the Ranger would be a good starting point for the experiment. Thanks.
This discussion is very interesting but brings up a couple of questions in my mind, assuming tire pressure is really this critical
Since the recommended pressures seem to be tire size and manufacturer specific for the vehicle loading. How does one decided where to set the normal pressures...
