I have one and I talked to UPR about this. It was intentionally designed so the valve handle is in line with the valve body when it's in the closed position. This places the handle in its most protected orientation during normal use, reducing the chance of it being accidentally struck, damaged...
I just order this aluminum one - should come on Tuesday. I'll post back on the fit.

10R60 / 10R80 same procedure - watch any YouTube Video () . I also upgraded to a deep transmission pan and used Amsoil ULV ATF. I followed the cold procedure 38:30 mark on this video for a 10R80 (). I actually noted where the original factory fill measured cold on the dipstick. Which was were...
Very easy to install and use. I think you should be in good shape, the access panel seems large enough to get your hand in there and rotate the valve handle. Do a follow-up once to install the UPR plug.

I purchased the 2025 version for my truck. I also purchased a Ford owners manual cover off of ebay. Mine fits in my trucks gove box. One other thing I bought was a maintenance log book that I keep in the gove box: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWLPX5ZH?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2
I agree, to get comfortable you should get under the truck and look around. Personally, I don't find the plug extends to where I think it would be an issue. Also, the cap that screws on to the end of the plug is billet aluminum with a gasket - I did have the same thought as you, so I opened up...
One of if not the best value in a truck today. I have a 2025 Lariat and my son just got a 2025 STX. Here is what we did to his STX in the first two weeks:
