Decided to try to fill the awkward gaps that are left. Used EVA foam with a hot knife (and ventilator!) Started by making stencils first, good EVA is not cheap! The very large gap towards the bulkhead is not 100% a tight fit. It's a very strange shape. It's about a 90-95% fit, which seemed like...
I ended up trying a pressure washer on the rails and cover and had some tiny leaks. I narrowed it down to the little perpendicular gaps where the cover sits on the rails. Ford what the heck is this design, guys?
Anyway, I took it all off (that sucked) and added some very thin EPDM strips in...
Ah ok that makes sense. I think what saves me from warping is the AAL spacer plates. My top plate is flush against those when torqued so the rail never carries any load other than EPDM seal.
You could probably modify my .step file to 3d printed in some hard plastic. You would need bolts though for mine. I thought I saw someone on here used 3d printed gasket material maybe it was this post?.
Thanks for sharing! My goodness that bumper looks great. I like the SVC bumper a ton as well but am 100% not interested in drilling holes into the above panel to relocate the parking sensors. Would prefer them in bumper which it looks like this one has. I saw the Exodus peeps did it this way as...
I took the bed rail caps off (yikes that sucked thanks Ford) but was not happy with just sealing the holes with vinyl and a strip of silicon. I want to be able to use the stake pockets for mounting rails and the similar. I also want to be able to run nothing sometimes. But I want the bed to be...
I guess I forgot to include the paper the first time. Oops. Third times the charm
These were taken off as soon as I got home from the dealer (200miles)
I’m in southwest Florida. Happy to meet up within reason. These will be too expensive to ship and a PITA with packaging and scheduling.
$350
Had the plastic silver valence wrapped in vinyl at a local shop and then painted the front skid plate black with SEM's trim black. Think it came out nice. Not the best photo for it with the sunset but that silver would of been really easy to see in the same shot was it still there ;)
