They were decals. I got some newer and much thicker decals that work better. I think I'm happy with these.

I went ahead and put some red stickers on the side vent too. I got the A off a little bit but I think it turned out reasonably well. This is the red hue that I was hoping for the back.

I went ahead and followed through on the front and back. I like it but it comes off much more orange than red. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem but I live in Alabama and am not an Auburn fan.

I have a lightning blue XL and the grill on the front also has the ranger letters embossed. I wonder if red like this would work well there too?

I thought about doing this since the red sort of matches the giant taillights and the FX4 sticker on mine. I think I just might follow your lead.

I'd love to find a storage box that can hook into where the seats would be to hold it in place. Would be a great place to store tools or guns and supplies.
