  1. [Quick Survey] If you were designing the perfect windshield wiper for your truck, what would you improve first?

Speaking of wipers, the RR is the only vehicle I've owned where you can't fold the wipers up. The arms hit the edge of the hood.
  2. Clicking sound from fuse box or ABS area

Can barely notice the RR doing it, but the Escape can be heard from 30 feet away. We laugh and joke the car is saying hello.
  3. Loaded Down Road Trip...Suspension Setting?

Suspension mode really won't make much difference, it doesn't affect body roll or braking to any appreciable degree. All it does is alter the shock valving. So weight carrying and normal cornering aren't really affected, sudden cornering maybe can be improved. But put it in Sport on the freeway...
  4. Clicking sound from fuse box or ABS area

Mine does it too. These vehicles are " connected." My wife's Escape makes more & louder clicky noises than the RR even if it's off and has been off for days. Seemingly random. I'm pretty sure it's the vehicle communicating with Ford.
  5. What FORD vehicles do you own ??

    2012 F350 Lariat 2022 Escape Titanium 2025 Ranger Raptor
  6. See America First - Road Trip: 2 months / 19 states

When we started planning we were going to take the Escape (30-32 mpg) but after we bought the RR we changed our mind. The difference in mileage at current gas prices adds about $600 to the whole trip. Since the total cost will probably exceed $15k, it's a drop in the bucket. But one thing...
  7. See America First - Road Trip: 2 months / 19 states

John, I'm considering this. Which onX? We don't do much hiking any more although I still mountain bike a lot. So my main interest would be backroads and 4 wheeling trails, not so much hiking trails. Looks like Backcountry (vs Offroad) would be the choice, but their descriptions and photos don't...
  8. anyone use a motorcycle hitch carrier?

    Well there is that...
  9. Installed K&N CAI now there’s a squeak after accelerating hard and letting off

Hey it's not an argument. I'm just sharing my experiences, and those of my 4 wheeling and performance car friends. Admittedly not hundreds... I hate oiled filters, and it's founded on experience since the early 80s. You do you, I'm good with that.
  10. anyone use a motorcycle hitch carrier?

I would worry about blocking the air flow with a front mount. The radiator, turbo cooler, ac condenser all add up to needing plenty of air. That said, any welding shop can make one. No need to wait for overpriced accessories.
  11. What did you do to your Ranger Raptor Today?

Neat idea! My wife can just ride in the back seat... :sunglasses:
  12. Installed K&N CAI now there’s a squeak after accelerating hard and letting off

I found that paper filters replaced often was cheap, easy, and never had oil related issues again. And no dust in my plumbing. It's done me well thru dozens of vehicles for the past 40 years. But your mileage may vary.
  13. Installed K&N CAI now there’s a squeak after accelerating hard and letting off

My thought too. K&N is a bad idea. They don't filter near as well as a paper filter plus all the oil that coats the pipes and IAC and MAF sensors whathaveyou.... I ran them on various vehicles back in day until I saw what they were doing...
  14. How are you maximizing your spare tire space? - American Adventure Lab M.A.S.S. Spare Tire Platform

It isn't really a new idea. I had a rack on my spare carrier in my TJ 20 years ago, a jerry can on each side and a platform on top.
  15. Beer of the Day Thread

Liked this a lot when in St Joseph MO so bought some to take with...
  16. [Quick Survey] If you were designing the perfect windshield wiper for your truck, what would you improve first?

My thoughts went in a different direction. I love/hate the rain sensing wipers. I might disable them if possible. Sometimes they are brilliant, most times they are incredibly annoying. Probably 75% of the time they just piss me off.... We don't need another distraction to deal with while driving.
