  1. Ford: Here's How Long We Torture Test Our Trucks Before We Hand You the Keys

Or it's a problem they know about but it makes financial sense to keep selling trucks with the defect so they do. I can only assume that's why 2026s are still coming off the line with a left rear tail light that barely fits and causes a paint chip on brand new trucks.
  2. Signature LUX Amber DRL Install - DIY How-To Writeup w/ Instructions & Photos

I would think anybody that does stereo installs could do it. There's nothing complex about it, it's just three screws and an electrical connector per side, it's just very cramped with little work space.
  3. Grille Marker Lights. Who has the best, fit and longevity

No idea about longevity but I'm very happy with the 4 pack from Signature Lux. I got the smoked orange, they blend in with the grill when off and have a nice even glow when on. Pretty sure they're identical to the Indicarbon ones and Indicarbon is cheaper; wish I'd seen them first. Easy to...
  4. Headlight protection

I had Lamin-x on my last vehicle, a Ridgeline. At 8 years it was cloudy on the more horizontal surfaces so I replaced it, but if I was really picky about it being clear 5 years would have been a good interval. And as rough as it looked when it came off the headlight was still crystal clear...
  5. Updated: For your entertainment…I bring you my stupidity. But it was fun!

"Snatch strap" is something of an oxymoron. Most straps deliberately have very minimal stretch and are meant to be gradually loaded. Nothing wrong with using his strap but using one to snatch instead of a gradual pull can lead to some spectacular results, and not in a good way.
  6. Newest B&O sound system quality

I've seen Gen 1 overseas RR's that had a 6X9 for the subwoofer behind the rear seat, but we get a small round one (5 1/4") in the US 6G RR. That might be the difference you're hearing, because the small round one is pretty poor. Most of the bass comes from the 6X9 in the front doors, not the...
  7. Car and Driver: beginning of Ranger Raptor long term test review

Does this require FORSCAN or is it a menu item?
  8. Marsh Gray or Shelter Green

You're not misinformed but "sticker" can also mean their price after the add-ons, which they can also stick to a window. It's dishonest and bullshit, but some dealers will try it. My local one did. "Oh, that's not the sticker I was talking about, this is the actual sticker". Yeah, bye.
  9. $22,000 RR Dealer Markup - Really???

When Bronco Raptors were getting $20k over MSRP they just raised the MSRP $10k one year, another $10k the next. They're not going to leave money on the table and I don't know why we would expect them to. The Bronco prices are from memory but I think that's fairly accurate.
  10. KO3s in Slick Conditions?

This is what I keep reading no matter who's doing the review. I've only had mine a few days and no rain yet, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they do on pavement. But I'm in Florida and wet traction is a priority over off-roading, so I'm going to put on some Continental A/Ts and try to...
  11. UPDATE [now with full parts list]: Sound Deadening Install / Speaker Swap / Kicker Hideaway sub and KEYLOC

I'm assuming the cheaper 6x9/tweeter sets that don't have a separate crossover also have them built in like that?
  12. UPDATE [now with full parts list]: Sound Deadening Install / Speaker Swap / Kicker Hideaway sub and KEYLOC

To clarify, yes this is a Raptor with the B&O. So I can get the Infinity REF697CF and just ignore the crossover it ships with, correct? I definitely don't want to mess with an amp and I don't need them loud, just a little clearer. Hopefully the Infinity plus sound deadening will be a...
  13. UPDATE [now with full parts list]: Sound Deadening Install / Speaker Swap / Kicker Hideaway sub and KEYLOC

For the stereo guys: there are several 6x9/tweeter component options for this truck. Some/most come with a crossover. I'm guessing they'd work fine without their crossover as the system is already limiting the frequencies the various locations will see? And if anybody has any experience with...
  14. Wanting to buy a RR like everybody else.

I'm in the Florida panhandle, so not as much population and trucks are in high demand. The only one within 50 miles started with $1500 worth of dealer "packages" then a straight up $5k "adjustment". I just put a deposit on one 2.5 hrs away for 1800 under MSRP, but most in the southeast are...
