Hopefully its the battery. The other is a sensor behind the steering wheel. The worst is a long tube that goes in the steering column to correct your driving.

I stopped off on the way home and started my 2026 Ranger XL and got this "Steering Assist Fault - Service Required". I Googled the error and one thing it indicated was a weak battery. The video said the voltage should be over 12.6 Volts and my multimeter showed 12.5. Anyone else get this error?

Getting in they are minimally helpful. Getting out I consider them somewhat dangerous as you really can't see them and it's difficult to get a foot on them.

The running boards on my truck are 3" wide and it appears a little more than 1" is tucked under the truck

Is there some measurement that can allow you to determine how far out the running boards will stick out on a specific truck?
