That Zen Audio kit looks like the right way to do it. It's a pretty impressive piece of tech. Keeping an eye on your build.
Your WT3 measurement looks a bit weird. Test lead resistance looks high and the impedance curve has a weird shape. Hmm maybe a lead is coming apart on the inside or...
Oh ok I see that. Yes, just there for protection it appears, and it's a good idea to keep something in place, unless you are using a passive crossover with a component system.
With my non- B&O system, which appears to not have a dedicated tweeter amp, I would suspect the cap is a 2.2 uF or...
What value is the cap that was on the OEM tweeter? That would point out if it was just a click/pop/thump filter or if it was actually in place as part of the tweeter's rolloff.
Good news. That will fit behind the seat. :D
Kicker actually did list full T/S parameters on their web site, along with Xmax. I needed at least a little something to make a buying decision. Actual T/S measurements came out close enough, with Qts a little higher and Vas a little lower as is...
Does that program have a white noise setting on it? Is there a smoothing setting like 1/24 or 1/12 oct? I'm not familiar with REW. REW looks like a free program. Might be time to download and start playing with it. Always love new toys.
How did you get the signal from your laptop to your...
Hmmm. You could do a sweep on the sub output at that green plug then equalize it back to flat. A lot of sub amps have a boost. Like the one I picked out has +12db centered on 40hz. But then do the sweep at multiple levels to see how it changes at different levels.
I think if I had the B&O...
Plenty of other discussions. Here's one. We all know it's there. Hook up a sub to line level speakers for a signal and we make it louder.
For some people, yes. For others like me, I want the bottom octave I'm missing in music. A little louder is good but I'm way past the booming stereos...
Well so far it's about $250 cost for parts and about 2 hrs of my time thinking about it. Whereas I spent 6 hours so far trying to figure out how to get rid of fake engine noise, unsuccessfully. My total estimate of cost and time is around $400, 10 hrs design time and another 10 hrs build time...
Bluetooth scan tool on the way from Amazon. Torque Pro vs OBD Fusion... they are both cheap enough apps that I could get both and pick which one I like better. I think I figured out how to get the tablet to go auto-on with ignition on power and launch any app I want on start-up. Then for good...
Now to help design my enclosure, I'll load up my Leica Geosystems BLK360 3D laser scanner and scan in the area behind the seat into a 3D model and import it into my Autodesk 3D design suite.
...haha I'm just kidding. I'm building a test box out of cardboard and tape, then I'll see if I smash...
Few questions for you. Can I ask which bluetooth scan tool you picked to work with OBD Fusion? Out of their recommendations, if I go with Android it looks like OBDLink LX would work for me, but the MX is for iPads.
Does it connect automatically when you start your truck? Do you have your...
Driver testing, enclosure simulation and design
So, the first thing I do with this woofer is get out my testing rig and get my own real Thiele Small parameters. I paralleled the coils and tested it as a 1 ohm woofer, and also put the coils series and tested it as a 4 ohm woofer as a point of...
Component selection and overall design concept
This is going into a 301A non-B&O equipment group package. I've settled on the behind the seat space for a few reasons, roughly similar to the area the B&O sub would go, and I will be custom building the enclosure to make the most use of the area...
Feels like a "like" is not enough, nor does it accurately convey proper words for what I see on your cab window. Thank you for your service and condolences your loss.
My god... huge fail. Lowering a car or truck for better street or track handling is great, but I hate it when people molest vehicles into garbage with grotesque wheel camber angles.
Here is the checklist The vehicle MUST have the following:
Absolutely vertical wheels, rear and front.
Tires...
