  3. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

Lets make sure we keep things on topic and according to forum rules - lunch food isn't really about Rangers or about the UAW negotiations. If you want to talk about food, please post it in the off topic forum. Thanks
  4. Official: US Spec 2024 Ranger + Ranger Raptor Debut on May 10!

I'm pretty sure the Maverick is like our C-Max hybrid. It can start moving on just electric power but it won't go too far until the ICE kicks in. There is a display on the dash talking about "Electric miles" - but the ICE is running almost all of the time. The electric motor "assists" the gas...
  5. Will the 2024 Ranger be crew cab only?

If the reports are true, (and the Ford teaser says this as well), we only have to wait 2 more days to find out.
  6. Official: US Spec 2024 Ranger + Ranger Raptor Debut on May 10!

I won't pretend to speak for "many people" but for me, the whole purpose is to use the battery when you can and (most importantly) have an ICE as a backup for when the battery won't work either due to range or cold, or whatever. It is a redundant system. If you ONLY had a battery, extreme cold...
  7. Official: US Spec 2024 Ranger + Ranger Raptor Debut on May 10!

Do you have links to those postings? Because cold weather should not impact a hybrid as far as range goes - unless you are SPECIFICALLY talking about battery range. But it doesn't change how you are able to use the vehicle - you just use the ICE instead of the battery.
  8. Official: US Spec 2024 Ranger + Ranger Raptor Debut on May 10!

That is the beauty of a PHEV - you get the best of both worlds - yes, the battery only range will decrease in cold temps, but you have the ICE to compensate. Hybrid range does not decrease in cold climates, only a BEV only vehicle. With a true hybrid, the ICE works in conjunction with the...
  9. 2023 New York Auto Show Reveal for 2024 Ranger?

That would piss me off too - LEDs were one of the reasons I chose a Lariat - but you still got push button start, right? I also prefer the "leather" seats - they are easier to clean than the cloth ones....
  10. Ford Ranger to be Built and Sold Domestically in China

I'd love a Raptor, but I'm very sure it will be in the "too rich for my blood" category. As time goes on, the 6G is becoming increasingly unattractive to me. My 5G has one VERY BIG feature that the 6G won't have - it is paid off. It does everything I need or want it to do - the only thing...
  11. Ford Ranger to be Built and Sold Domestically in China

Maybe there is still hope that the NA version will get a bumper like that....
  12. 2023 New York Auto Show Reveal for 2024 Ranger?

We must have been posting at the same time. The T6.2 from my understanding is a T6 that has been slightly modified. Most of it is the same, but there were a few tweaks (as listed above - rear shocks, front track width, etc) - some of it was to allow the 2.7 to fit under the hood.
  13. 2023 New York Auto Show Reveal for 2024 Ranger?

If I'm not mistaken, it is actually the T6.2 platform, a slightly modified T6 platform. I believe the 5G uses the T6 platform. If I'm wrong about that, apologies....
  14. Cactus Gray Ranger 6G spotted

I honestly would love a Ranger Raptor, but I can't justify how much it is going to cost... Unless they decide to make them more affordable, which I HIGHLY doubt. I do like the looks of the 6G Raptor a lot more than the regular 6G.
  15. Cactus Gray Ranger 6G spotted

Glad I didn't miss something big like that  - I hope Ford announces something soon, even it gets delayed a bit further. It would be nice to know for sure what the NA 6G is going to look like and what trims they will offer - will it still be just the 3? Or will they add more trims like the...
  16. Cactus Gray Ranger 6G spotted

Has it? Unless I've missed something there has been no official announcement/reveal of the NA 6G version. The only thing that I've seen is these spy shots. I'm still holding out a glimmer of hope the actual released version will be different (although I know that is a sliver of hope at this...
  17. Another 2024 XLT Ranger Spotted, with bash plate

I'm not a huge fan of the chrome with one exception - I'd prefer chrome bumpers to painted bumpers - they are a lot more resistant to chips and damage. But the only way you can get chrome bumpers is with the chrome package, which is too much chrome (for me).
  18. Question about Ford production facilities.

They have more trim levels, but are you saying each trim level in the ROW models have fewer options/packages to choose from? Honestly, I don't think there are THAT many choices for NA models. Each of the 3 trim levels only have 2 or 3 packages (2 for XL, 3 for XLT and 2 for Lariat). That...
  19. 2024 Ranger Release Date?

I'd rather they get it RIGHT rather than get it QUICK. I would at least like to see OFFICIALLY what the NA 6G looks like though..... Seems like that is the least they could do for us. If there is no PHEV, I'm perfectly happy to keep my 5G long term - I kept my last Ranger for 13 years...
  20. Will Ford fix the fuel tank size?

Not if you listen for Ford.... You'd think it was a whole new design!
