I was lucky then. Dealers down this way are selling for MSRP, but they are also pre-selling their allocations so none are sitting around on lots. Seems to be a good demand for the 23’s as that was their refresh year.
I ordered a 6g Ranger Lariat the day the order banks opened, and my dealer knew from the start about my need for flat towing. I questioned him after seeing the threads here about the 6g not being able to be flat-towed. He claims to have checked directly with Ford and found nothing stating...
Well, I took your word for it and ordered a GMC Canyon Denali. Confirmed that it is flat towable! I’ve got a 7/17 build date so hopefully I’ll have it sometime in August. Thanks!
I was content to wait for my 6g Lariat, ordered the day the order banks opened… until I started seriously looking at the GMC.
I ended up ordering a Canyon Denali yesterday and have a build date of 7/17. Just too many upgrades over the Ranger that were important to me (rear air, vented seats...
I placed my order the day order banks opened up and received an email from Ford confirming the order and stating I’d have an update in 45 days. It hasn’t been 45 days yet, so no news to share.
I’m with you on this one! Hopeful….
Over the weekend I looked for other mid sized trucks that I could flat tow. Unfortunately, not many around.
I do like the GMC Canyon Denali though. It’s a little more pricey, but has features the 6g doesn’t - e.g. rear air and 2.7L High Output turbo...
My salesman just called me back after checking with Ford on the flat-tow issue. He hasn’t found anything that says the 24’s won’t be capable of flat-towing. I really hope we don’t learn otherwise in the weeks ahead, but for now I’m sticking with my order and pressing forward.
Bronco’s seem to have something in the roofs that easily allow racks to be mounted. I wonder if the Rangers will use a similar system?
one example here; https://gear.thebronconation.com/products/copy-of-bronco-trailrax-modular-roof-rack-trmr-rack-4-door
This makes a lot of sense. I had some Yakima racks with T-slots that looked a lot like the roof shown in the video.
There are some members from overseas here with Raptors already. Could always ask one of them to take a look and send photos..
There’s what looks to be an x-ray picture in the Ford Body Builders Layout Book. It’s not real clear, but appears to show something looking like a bolt hole beneath the gutter on the B pillar. There also appears to be a track running the roofline next to the gutters. I wouldn’t build off...
Michiel, I fixed your quoted message. :like:
Sorry to hear of your troubles, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will jump in - but here's a bump for you.
What part of the Netherlands are you in? I'm flying to Schiphol tomorrow and will be working in Friesland (Joure to Mitselwier)...
No worries, it caught me off-guard as well. It wasn’t until I read another posters comment about the towing capacity difference that I realized OP didn’t compare apples to apples.
I can only assume because you pulled the specs from the Raptor spec sheet. There must either be some differences between the bed specs in that model, or it’s a typo.
My information comes from the Ford Body Builders Layout Book. While the BBLB contains different internal dimensions for the...
Here's a comparison of the 5' box dimensions, taken from both year's BBLB.
According to the 2024 Technical specifications, towing capacity remains at 7,500 lbs for the other Ranger models. Too bad to see the Raptor has quite a bit less!.
