Yeah I had already bought the Keyloc and the Kicker 8" powered sub. I got the same rack from Am Adv but it looks a bit narrow for my sub. I emailed them to check into a custom sized rack, I'm also going to be removing the center seat belt and cover to make a bit more room for a slightly larger...
Here's the link to Kicker's powered subs: https://www.kicker.com/powered-subwoofers-for-cars
They go all the way up to 12 inches and also have down fired versions for under seat locations.
Everyone that I've seen install the Keyloc with the Sub had it tuned and swear it sounds great. I'm planning on doing that but I'm still gathering the bits and pieces.
Just got mine in today but I'm using a Kicker powered sub and it's a bit big for the rack as it is. I took some pics and have some possible changes to allow it to fit. I also plan on removing the center seat belt so that plastic cover should go away allowing for a slightly wider mounting area.
What's the cable from the Keyloc to the Amp and where'd you get it? I got a couple cables from SGS but they told me I'd need to get an RCA cable, I take it that's what they were talking about.
There's a new recall for possible wiring issues in the headliner, was thinking about asking if they could do the sound deadening when they take care of that. Problem is they haven't released a fix yet so it might be a while.
Agreed, same can be said for the FP Tune that comes with a warranty. It could have come from the factory with the tune enabled but it didn't. Kind of a lame comment, it can be said about any after market item from Tunes to seat covers. Sure the factory could install a ton of items but cost and...
The warranty issue is due to the possibility of a crappy installation, if it's done right then sure, should be fine. If not, then you get to repair on your dime.
I intend to do the same thing you are, I ordered some spray cans from:
R&E Automotive Paint and Supply
[email protected]
I ordered:
FORD M7-A
Ford M7, Carbonized Gray
Hope that helps. I also intend to paint the skid plate at the same time. I think the reason Ford had a problem is...
After 1 year and 2 months I'm at 9,301 miles
2 oil changes and a tire rotation so far.
1 recall done and will hopefully get the window software update when I take it in for the 10K checkup
OEM Amber Lights? No such thing, at least on a Ranger and if that's the way it is you can't really expect a true comparison. Another manufacturer, another model, it's not going to be worth comparing.
Mine's installed, still have the spare. Not sure what you were looking at but it fits just fine. On another note, not sure how anybody will fit a 35" spare, only about a half inch between the spare and the frame.
