I want one. Today. My Ranger Raptor is just a PITA with it's tow rating. But this thing with 9900 lbs towing is just what I would need. Not as big as the F-150, just more practical. Yeah, I am from the US.
That looks like an interesting solution. Says 3500lbs load. Do you have any understanding what the dynamic load is, especially if mounted longitudinal ?
The Range Raptor hits a sweet spot. Size wise not too big, so that it works in city traffic. Capable enough offroads, utility up the jing yang, and can tow just enough.
Going to a larger tow truck, you lose a lot of the nimbleness that makes the Ranger fun, while you are not towing things.
The trailer comes with a padded front window cover. Don't have mudflaps on the RR, but it had been on my list. From Airstreams I had seen some bumper attached mudflaps. That might be an option. On the other hand, I had not have any issue with gravel, yet.
Self installed ;-) And yes, finetuning...
Sparate reply to that one. I have towed with and without in decent crosswinds. The Ranger Raptor dealt with it. ZERO problems. First trip we did a mountain pass (yeah, Colorado). The power and torque of the Ranger Raptor made that a blast. 70 mph, no big deal. Uphill, no sweat, downhill, no...
Maybe my decision process might help you. I wanted a full queen. The RV matresses are painfully bad, and non-standard sizes are difficult to get sheets for. Only the 22ft layout for Banbi/Caravel gives you that, but compared to the inTech Horizon/Dusk you lose the nice front dinette (with this...
I did end up getting the Horizon, but I did upgrade the electric system (300Ah battery and such), so that the tongue weight went up quite a bit. A Anderson WD hitch solved the squatting problem (and much of the bouncing). The way the Anderson WD hitch works (longitudinal dampening via polymer)...
So the 7-pin has a charge line. Looks like there is a 30A fuse, and from what the manual says (maybe I misread that) 20A on the connector.
Question is whether the Ford cabeling / wireing can sustain 20A ? Connector, does that do 20A on a range raptor ?
Yeah, saw that. I am not a too big fan of their scales, they seem imprecise at the lower end and focus more on way heavier loads.
In general I was more after "I tried that and it did not work, because of ..." or "I tried that and it was great, because of ...". At the end of the day, I can look...
Looking for a recommendation for a WDH for a Ranger Raptor (yes, I know the manual says "not needed"). My tongue weight starts to get into the 600 lbs range, so I would like to balance this out via a WDH.
Trailer is a Sol Horizon / Sol Dusk, Rover, so problem is the front layout limiting the...
I am looking into buying an RV trailer, the the inTech Sol Dusk is a candidate for that. Lists 4,800lbs as GVWR, but 540 - 575lbs as the tongue weight. Ranger Raptor specs say max tongue weight is 550lbs. The tailer does not lend itself to be easily rebalanced. Anyway to Ford towing spec seems...
Do have the same problem here. Could not find my original remote, but added an El cheapo from Amazon hoping to program the Ranger HomeLink this way. Did not work though.
Yeah, also complained to the dealer and had it checked.
Is there some magic I am missing ? What protocol does one need to...
I do have the "TruXedo XLP Low Profile Soft Roll Up Cover" installed. Keeps snow, rain and dust out. So the though was that with the Bakflip MX4 you had a lot more security. But you are right, a simple hook would do the job if you know what you are doing. So are you really gaining anything for...
I am looking at the same one. Wife wants something that is secure, for road-trips. When this is latched and the tailgate is closed, are the individual segments locked in place, or could they be lifted / pryed open easily ?
Got a soft cover installed, which is fine by me, just easy to break in.
I got myself this here: https://rockymounts.com/products/ford-ranger-track-system.html
That kit is for the older Ranger, so one has to cut the bar to fit. The bed turns out to be a tad short, so that the bike needs to get angled. Actually comes in handy, as you can wedge in the rear tire, so...
My bad, "factory power plug". Or on the options list for the non-Raptor models "in-bed power".
Anyway, it does not matter, the manual is just confusing (or wrong ?)
My only beef are those Torx Plus screws where they applied soo much thread lock, that at least I just seem to be unable to get...
Just FYI. The manual of the Pivot Box - Driver Side says that it will not work if you have the outlet box installed. That is incorrect. Works like a charm.
