Picked my truck up beginning of Apr and have put 18,000 km (11K miles) on it. Lots of off-road kms and no issues yet.

This is a common issue. Remove the latch bar, slip on a couple washers behind the latch bar plate and thread it back in. The washers should push out the latch bar out enough so the receiver can snap onto it. Good luck.
