On the small lines I think the hose is cleaner. TBH, I don’t open the hood much so how it looked wasn’t that big of a deal. I could remove it all in 15 mins. I just want that noise gone.
I can say after 30ish miles it is much quieter. I can still hear it at idle, but it’s far less noticeable.
I got impatient and decided to take the truck out for a drive. It's about 85 degrees here today. I noticed with the insulation on the suction side, the noise was reduced. I could still hear it a bit, so I decided to grab some 3/8" Gates fuel hose, slit it down the length and install three...
I purchased some AC line wrap, though I do have plenty of hose laying around from my 70 Chevelle projects to replace it. I'm testing it out on the low pressure / suction side first to see if it makes any difference. If not, then I'll continue on with the liquid/high side. I'm first going to...
Just an update. I did order the AAA airbag kit from overseas and received it a couple of days ago. I want to provide a fair warning to anyone who orders this kit from them. While the kit looks nice, I will say I wasn't overly impressed with their customer service. When I ordered, I paid for...
It's probably the noisy AC compressor and not related to the charging system. Have everything on like normal and replicate the sound. Then hit the AC button and see if the noise stops. If it does, it's the compressor. There doesn't sound to be a fix if that is the case.
Thanks for this thread. I just ordered the AAA bag kit for my 2024 RR. I've been towing a bit and the squat is pretty bad, so I'm looking forward to installing. I am going with manual inflation since I don't tow often, but I am going to mount a digital gauge with sensors in the bed so I can...
A lot of times when it's a condition like this, it's a connection/ground issue, or something going on with one of the networks in the vehicle. For example, a module or short can take one of the networks down. Hopefully they can identify the issue quickly. I'd start with a full network scan to...
I would love to find a 2019-2023 F150 with the Max Tow and Heavy Duty Payload package, but they are very rare. I may pick up a 2015ish F250 XL SuperCab 6.2L with lower miles and keep my eye out for an F150 with the HDPP and long bed with the 5.0L. I'm going to look at one tomorrow with less...
Thanks for the update. I am positive it’s the compressor on mine. It’s annoying but whatever. I’ve just never heard it a modern compressor be that loud. I also wonder if having the AC lines entering on the left side of the firewall amplify the noise more. Anyhow, as soon as I touch the AC...
Honestly, most of the equipment on the skid is accessible just above the side rails since it's on a custom made aluminum skid, so the height isn't a huge issue, but I see your point.
So I purchased my 2024 RR back in October 2024 at MSRP here in California. I am semi-retired now and am working on starting a small business doing residential soft wash services. For that reason, I need a truck with more payload to carry an aluminum skid with all of the equipment and tanks. I...
I have a new set of them in the box. Ordered them before my truck was built and then found out about the bed changes in later builds. PM me if interested.
On my prior 2021 F150 Platinum, the parking brake would seemingly set if the truck was parked on a steep incline. My 2024 RR doesn't do this when parked on the same incline. It would be nice if it did.
I'm not going to move on over a little noise from the AC compressor. What I will do is go find another Ranger Raptor and see if it exhibits the same noise as mine. If it does, then it's normal and just annoying. If it does not, then I will take video of both and press the issue. To me, it...
I too have a noise coming from what sounds like dead ahead of the steering wheel in the dash somewhere. It's pretty infrequent so that one isn't bugging me yet, but the clicking/whining/noisy compressor sounds abnormal.
If you get traction on getting it addressed, please let me know. It's that one thing about the truck that pisses me off. I'm OCD about noises and while AC compressors do make some noise, this seems to be excessive.
