I'd love to see that comparison! And I agree, not much at all was lost. I wouldn't have noticed it at all if I went from stock tune straight to the new turbos and e50
I've got this turbo setup installed in my truck with the stock fuel system, and it is a huge improvement over stock. I'd say it's only slightly lazier than the stock spool at the very bottom of the rev range, but it's overall better everywhere else.
Still going through the tuning with Adam...
Look man, I'm not trying to flame you or anything, but that was a lot of words that didn't really say anything. You're arguing that a basic principle of thermo and fluid dynamics doesn't exist or isn't effective with nothing more than "trust me bro, street smarts"
And again, I work in the...
Hi yes, I'm a mechanical engineer that deals with industrial heat exchangers regularly and am well aware of what heat transfer mechanisms exist and flow regime behaviors. With the engine off and no water pump spinning, the coolant will still flow because of exactly what you put. The coolant sits...
The turbos on these trucks actually don't cook the oil after shut off, the coolant passages keep flowing through convection and will keep the oil from baking in the journals. Just fyi.
Thats true on non-actively cooled turbos though
That's right, the fogs would cut on and off when the matrix lights would activate. Activating bambi mode with forscan should put a stop to that though
I can't remember exactly, but it should be the coding currently in the forscan spreadsheet on the forum
That's right, I leave mine on all the time and it will automatically activate the matrix high beams. I believe ambient light needs to reach a threshold before it even tries to activate, which means they don't kick on at dawn/dusk just like the original auto on brights
I poured through the product pages on alpha rex's website and I don't see any mention of the having matrix capabilities, but I'm not terribly surprised. It's a very complex system that integrates with the truck's cameras so not exactly something I'd expect any aftermarket to be able to tie into...
It's a selective high beam system that will turn off small sections of the light's profile so that you don't blind other drivers. It's also called anti-dazzle I believe. I turned mine on with Forscan, the coding is in the master spreadsheet that's on the forum
I've done the math a couple of times and you're really not going to find any value in charge pipes until you're getting into aftermarket turbos and the Nostrum catalog. The extra flow capacity of larger pipes doesn't equate to any gains in terms of reducing pressure drop. Now if you like the...
I've actually been very happy with the stock headlights, especially when you program the matrix headlight functionality. It's the fog lights that I've got a problem with. It's a shame I can't use my old Diode Dynamics fogs from my 5th Gen Ranger in the same housing because I loved those things
Whats the cost adder on the modified turbo work? I don't see it on the website yet, but I'd love to start budgeting for next year's bonus since this one is already spent on a Disney trip
I'm extremely skeptical of the power claims with the spacers, and the price is insane for what they are. The minimal plenum volume that they are adding would be vastly overshadowed by a pound of boost being added, and the minimal change to runner length would only adjust the helmholtz resonance...
Selling my JB4 tuner off of my Ranger Raptor. I've had it on there for just under a year and had zero issues with it. I bounced back and forth with Map 3 and Map 5 depending on if I had ethanol, and it was a huge difference. Only selling it because I'm going the ECU flashing route
Comes with...
Hey everyone, I'm needing to verify fitment of an air compressor bracket that I am designing. We currently have verified that it fits an a Raptor, so we are in need of a Non-Raptor WITHOUT the bed corner steps. It would only take about 30 minutes for us to verify everything we need. Our shop is...
Weird question, does the sand squeak when you walk on it? That would indicate that the sand grain hasn't eroded the sharp edges off and have a tendency to grab onto itself inconsistently. Just a thought, throwing stuff at the dartboard to see what sticks at this point
Old school traction tricks wouldn't work on this setup, these are 4 linked with watts link for lateral axle control. Leaf sprung applications had really bad wheel hop thanks to axle wrap flexing the springs, so that's where traction boards come into play. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised...
