I’m offloading my RR after one too many issues. It’s a Job 1 build and the backbreaker was it being in the shop twice in the past month for oil leaking. I can’t spend more time and money on something that just didn’t get the build quality I hoped for.
I purchased the tune right when it came out...
Yeah that makes sense. It kind of aligns with what I saw personally. The way the gap was on the front end seems to make sense with it not being torqued to spec. That o ring may have saved the day.
Hard to see with my crappy pic but this is the line going into engine. I first noticed there was less of a flush fit gap on the front side of it vs the back side of it. It actually stood out because I felt like I could catch my finger nail on the front but not the back before I even realize it...
They said it was loose. No mention of an actual failure point. Both the tech and the service advisor spoke with me on it. I’m sure I can ask more questions when I get there to pick it up but I am still perplexed how it would come loose over time or if there was an actual failure as you said.
It was indeed that oil line. Dealer is noting the event for the vehicle history in case the turbo shits the bed. I did ask them about the turbo operation but he said oil levels were not low by much but to definitely watch it. Can’t say I’m super confident about being in a scenario where it could...
It is in front of the turbo best as I can tell. I see one line in the vicinity of what I can can surmise seems to be where it may be coming from. But I also see a bolt too that looks suspect to me as being loose or with a gap that looks funky. My guess is one of those two places.
I have not lifted her and not going to. It’ll be at the dealer tomorrow. Guess rear main seal or something in that space. Not sure what else it could be. Not seeing anything from the top side.
Smell of burning oil. Dripping and pressurized spray pattern on driver side from the axle area and...
Is the location of the IC also an issue on these trucks?
My FI knowledge is 20 years old at this point back when I was a young buck in my tuner days with SRTs, STIs, etc. I’m equally concerned about the introduction of lag with these aftermarket ICs. This truck feels like it spools pretty...
I am almost 3 mos in and 1,300 miles on my cactus gray RR. I also own a fifth gen 4Runner. Wife had a RAV4 Prime. Sold that and gave her my 4Runner (with Fox 2.5s and tons of toys, lol).
Pros: Truck is fun to drive. It really is. Love the tech in it when it works. Comfortable ride quality...
I would just do a lightbar tucked inside and got flood or combo style dispersion. If that doesn’t work, and you want wide view, set up ditch lights. I’m sure you could wire them to hit on with high beams but I’d suggest against it because I wouldn’t want to use them on road with frequent high...
I don’t think there will be a lot of marker options in the U.S. since the orange side marker is required. Dumb rule but my guess is that will drive demand low enough companies won’t see the profit potential to make smoked or clear ones.
I have not done it myself. That said there are some who have but mostly reseller companies. Butter up cup or whatever her name is…seems to be the one who has.
I have read from a few AUS folks that their stuff is well made. But, some of the more serious AUS folks say the bolts on don’t appear to...
I have these in gunmetal on my 4Runner. They’re 3.5ish years old. They aged like milk on the counter. Love the look but they have bubbled spots and excessively worn down coating.
