I found aftermarket actuators for $149 and install was pretty straightforward. I wired to the tailgate actuator, then up behind brake light. Now the topper lift gate unlocks with the tailgate using the truck's key fob. You can do all three doors, I didn't want to take the time.

The manual specifies to use premium fuel when towing. And I also get good fuel economy using tow mode. 16MPG, tow mode, 93 octane, 2400# camper.

I'd still order one, these are amazing, and I don't really see/notice the discoloration, not in line of sight. That said, I have an email to Tackform about this.
