Id prefer unpainted matte black I think. The painted gray are OK but on an FX4 unpainted would be more on style for offroad.

My phone is in a Quadlock case which is a bit thick on the back. Maybe that’s the issue. It takes a while to overheat, less than an hour and it’s ok. I might add a MagSafe stick on dead center on the pad and see if that fixes it.

My phone also overheats on the wireless pad. Never heard a fan. It also causes radio interference and makes audio crackle. I have to use a cable. Yet another thing I paid extra for that Ford dropped the ball on.

I’m not sure why you had a problem getting the filter off. I just did mine and could easily just reach down from the top to get it off and on. No need to go through the wheel well at all.

I think that’s where the adaptive cruise sensor is. If you got a lower tier model it might be missing.
