My dealer just switched my stock Raptor order to retail, apparently per Ford's most recent bulletin. As such, I received an order email directly from Ford and am now price protected. Can anyone confirm this bulletin? I haven't seen it myself, but the dealership GM assured me Ford gave clear instructions.

My reading the end of your post correctly they said it needed to be changed from stock TO retail?I was told that Ford is changing how all specialty vehicles are being ordered. From now on all will begin as stock, guessing they are trying to get a feel for how much interest there is in the vehicle and plan production from there. They will then, at some point, be switched over to retail. Again, I don’ know if this is true it is just what I heard from my dealer through their zone manager. My order began as a stock allocation and I was told it had to remain a stock in order to get built. He called me on Saturday to let me know of this Ford update and that it needed to be changed at 4:00 today to a retail. It was immediately accepted he said as an unscheduled clean.
They should have just kept retail as retail and stock as stock, and not play these games of having retail customers order as stock if they really didn't want to have mistakes. Now all these dealers are going back and forth submitting and pulling orders. My reading the end of your post correctly they said it needed to be changed from stock TO retail?
I am kind of viewing recent activity of them getting on the dealers about making sure Raptor orders are put in correctly in a positive light. It may indicate production is going to ramp up soon and begin and they need all the data in properly.
I just asked my sales guy and he confirmed. Back to retail we go. Priority 10 gang. You are reading correctly…. And I am as surprised as anyone else because up until yesterday I was told it HAD to be a stock allocation. Change Stock —-> Retail. I live in upstate NY and this is what the zone manager told my dealership. Perhaps this isn’t tue everywhere, but my specific dealer was told to make the change. Specifically after 4:00 today.
I was told that with it being changed to retail I will get price protection, which is key. This update came in Friday or Saturday I believe so perhaps your dealer just hadn’t been notified yet. Again, my change occurred at about 4:05 today. I have not received my email from Ford yet, but was told it can take 24 hours. I was told that it was accepted however and is in their system unscheduled.Man this is confusing, I just went in to get my preview sheet earlier today and he said it had to be stock order. It could have changed later today, so I will call back tomorrow and see if he got the news. If it gets switched to retail, it might get price protection. They had a new Bronco Raptor there that someone bailed on that went up $15,000 since they ordered it.
