I haven’t decided what I want to do regarding a bedcover/ toolbox yet. I needed some light tie downs mostly to keep stuff from sliding around. 6mm and 8mm stainless eyebolts into the threaded inserts from the factory. The hook to reach stuff is a 3/4 plastic rod from Amazon. I secured it to the bed cap using 1/4 x 20 hardware where the scrivets go. The “mini quick fists“ hold it pretty securely.

Looks functional and good! Where did you get the eyebolts, I don't see them in 8mm x 1.25 on Amazon?

Yes on Amazon, I screenshotted both the 6mm and 8 mm ones that I bought.

Did the exact same thing. Both in 6mm & 8mm. Got shorter thread to keep them tucked out of the way. Either works just fine. Still puzzled as to why they used metric. Maybe the beds are made in Canada and shipped to Detroit?

Most domestics use metric. I don't know if it's still the case, but a lot of foreign manufacturers used to use SAE. Always thought it was to keep customers from wrenching in their own vehicles, but that's purely a guess.

Yup pretty much everything automotive now is metric.
I have a 69 MGB, everything except suspension related hardware is SAE fine thread.
I have a 1974 Detomaso Pantera which has an American engine with SAE fittings, and Italian body, a German ZF transmission and LUCAS electric wiring from Britain. Uses a little bit of everything in my toolbox.

I'd love a chance to drive that Pantera. Hell, I'd love to just sit in it and hear the engine rumbling behind me. What a beautiful car.

Nice to see I'm not the only one with manufacturing defects in their Ford rubber bed mat.... those "fibers" are popping through everywhere and make the mat look dirty all the time. My OCD is not happy lol.

Not sure what fibers you are talking about, I had some stuff in my bed. I am thrilled with my mat.

Sounds like my XJ. American motor, Japanese transmission, American axles and transfer case. Pretty much need to have 6 and 12 point metric and SAE sockets to work on anything.
