I have a 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat and want a tailgate ajar notification, and I also want this to set off the alarm. I've been researching it, and the easiest way is to tap into one of the door ajar circuits or the hood ajar circuits (parallel). The downside of this is you don't get a tailgate-specific warning.
Then I came across this thread on the F150 where they mention that pre-2016ish Ford had the tailgate ajar feature but disabled it after issues. Some folks were able to add a tailgate switch and access a pre-wired pin (left rear undercarriage) and then, using FORScan, enable the configuration for this feature. Does anyone know if this is something that can be done on the Rangers?
