The chrome makes it look like your Dad’s old Chevy pickup. Ford Authority is still reporting the production start in May?

looks like it. I sincerely doubt it will start in may personally.

Look, I've never been a Chevy guy. But what Ford has done with the "new" Ranger over the last few years in the U.S. has been a disaster and this new 2024 model looks even worse. My God, don't they have ANYBODY on the design team who understands U.S. buyers??

You are entitled to your opinion, even if it is wrong.
I like this look at least on par with the 5g. I'd argue they understand the US buyer more now because you are supposed to be able to lay a sheet of wood down flat in the bed where the 5g couldn't. So the 5g was the maverick before the (new) maverick existed.

IMO the 5g looks much better than this. But i'm probably biased because I drive a FoST and they share a lot of similar curves on the front end.

I do agree that the colorado/canyon new-gen looks better on the exterior, but I think the 6G Ranger interior will be much better than those two and that's what i'm looking at 100% of the time that I'm operating the vehicle, so i rank that a bit higher than exterior looks. It's also just going to come down to payload capacity and other engine specs.

I own a Maverick and it doesn't look anything like 5G or 6G Ranger. Also, it is a COMPACT , unibody vehicle with a completely different mission Than Ranger in Ford's lineup. Comparing Maverick to other Mid Size trucks offered just isn't a valid comparison based on size, construction and capabilities along with target demographics.

I agree. I’m not at all a fan of chrome either. Seems like the boomers are bigger chrome fans… to each their own though, variety isn’t a bad thing. It’s an easy pass on any chrome package for this 52 year old.

Lol. Even us boomers aren’t into the chrome packages. 62.

I would like to see a side by side with the Scab. The box on the Screw looks odd. The Maverick looks more proportional. As long as you break the colors up on the front it looks ok. The all white one not so good. The panels on the Raptor look very ecstatically pleasing.

I'm not a huge fan of the chrome with one exception - I'd prefer chrome bumpers to painted bumpers - they are a lot more resistant to chips and damage. But the only way you can get chrome bumpers is with the chrome package, which is too much chrome (for me).

Agreed. Its what is inside that counts, in this case, fingers are crossed that the 6G ranger has plenty of storage and a comfy interior.

from all the images i've seen of the RoW ranger vs the GMC twins, i think it's going to be much better.

an ugly front end can usually be fixed pretty easily with aftermarket solutions (bull bars, grille inserts etc). an ugly interior is much harder to modify.
