Clearing cruise speed

Is there any way to clear the cruise set speed once it's used? It seems that once you set a speed, cruise never truly turns off and the speed can always be activated by RES.

Well, you can turn it off and reset it when you reach your desired speed. You use the up/down when it's on, and that changes it.

I've pushed and held all the buttons and I can't get rid of the speed like I just turned the truck on.

While you're in cruise control, you can adjust the speed with the up/down button. When your not, just hit the on/off button when you get to your desired speed.

I have not found a way to completely turn it off without restarting the engine. Hitting cancel or the brakes disengages it, but you are correct, it remains on until you restart the truck. I guess that doesn't really hurt anything, but it seems odd.

I guess I don't understand your question. You change the setting with the up/down button while it's on. What difference does it make what it's set at when it's turned off? It's off.

Just reset it when you've hit your cruise speed.

I think, Hit brakes to cancel current… then hit cruise again to set the new speed.

Pressing the cruise mode button to switch between distance detection ON/OFF will clear any previously set speed. This can only be done once cruise has been deactivated via the cancel button or after applying brakes.

I have not been able to get the cruise control speed to clear either. I have found though that if I hit cancel twice that it disengages the set speed, that way, when you reengage the cruise control, it sets at the speed you want.

On my SR5 I press the button top left showing speedometer below the car inside lines. This turns dynamic cruise control on with first press then off with second press.
