Hi all.

I have a bit of a weird issue and no one seems to know what is going on. I just got a Thinkware U3000 dashcam system installed on my 4runner, and its being powered through the OBD2 port - which is all fine and good. Camera Systems work as expected.

However, the issue is with my Compustar 2WR5R-SF remote, as it is acting weird. Normally when I go to my vehicle and unlock it with my standard key fob by touching the door handle, I have about 1-2 minute window of time to start the vehicle without having to disarm the Compustar remote (double pressing the button twice quickly). Typically, if I sit in the vehicle when it's off for more than this window of time, I have to disarm to allow the vehicle to actually start. So without the remote, car will not turn on (preventing theft by design). Additionally, I am no longer able to turn the vehicle OFF after driving without disarming by double pressing the button on the Compustar remote. IE. I pull into my home, put in park, and push the start button on 4runner, but it doesn't turn off vehicle. I have to double press the compustar remote button. Wtf?

Is this typical behaviour? It was working perfectly fine until the dash camera unit was installed. I don't know if the U3000 and the OBD2 port is causing conflicts or not. I called Compustar and they say there is no such feature to have to disarm to turn off the vehicle, which is strange. They said to have the installer (Toyota in this case) reach out to their support for troubleshooting.

I called Toyota and spoke with a service advisor, and they don't have an answer either. I emailed my sales rep to whom sold me the vehicle to see if they had any insight, no response yet. The dash cam installer says they haven't heard of this and it shouldn't conflict with anything - but offered to re wire it to the fuse panel instead of the OBD2.

Any thoughts?
