My DIY Blackout Project So I did away with all of the chrome on my 2024 Ranger XLT.
My project involved:

Blacking out the chrome on the front and rear Ford Blue Oval Emblems. I was going to black out the background of the emblems with flat black but I liked the way it looked with the blue background and just the letters black, so I kept the blue.

Blacked out the side XLT emblems.

Replace the lug nuts with black lug nuts.

Installed Black Ranger tailgate letters.

When the weather warms up a little, I will black out the front silver valance under the bumper.

I like the look. This is why I opted to wait for a 2025 black appearance package. 👍

I get the lug nuts, but when you say you "blacked out 'xyz,'" what did you do? I like the effect, but I'm curious about the process.

"Blacked out," meaning made them black by painting them, replacing them, or adding. I removed all of the emblems on the truck, front and rear Ford Emblems, and side XLT emblems and painted them black to cover the chrome. The empty tailgate Ranger imprint I filled with matte black tailgate letters. And obviously, replaced the silver lug nuts with black.

Thanks. It almost seemed like a stupid question, but there are different ways to do things.

No bracket. I drilled the hole slightly smaller than the circumference of the LED light and then filed the hole little by little until the LED fit to a snug interference fit. I didn't use the rubber seal part around the LED.

My STX came from the factory with all the chrome black. Way less expensive and no blackout needed.

It looks like in your picture the front Ford Emblem is chrome along with the side emblems. Where is the Black?

Did you completely disassemble the components of the emblem or just tape off the blue parts?

I had to completely disassemble the components of the emblem. I painted all of the chrome gloss black and left the blue oval background as is. I was going to paint the blue oval background flat black but I liked the way it looked with just the chrome blacked out and the blue oval background.

I finally got around to removing the front silver valance and painted it black for the completion of my DIY Blackout Package.

Looks good. I still haven't figured out why Ford made that part silver.

What are the square lights in the lower valance?
