.

Anyone else notice how much water gets thrown up on your windshield from off the hood with the hood scoop when braking while driving in rain. Thought it was kinda funny until I was coming to an intersection with the wipers on slow intermittent and there was that much water thrown on my windshield I couldn't see the traffic. Had to scramble to throw the wipers to swipe.

Weird design, comes up both sides of the scoop.

That makes sense... it does happened with my friend's 5th gen, but not to the excess of getting on to the windshield as much.

Have you notice hood vibrating/fluttering at high speed? I'm thinking air flow into/under the scoop that can cause such issue.

Flutters and fountains galore! It will be interesting to see what happens in the winter when water freezes in all the places it hides in the scoop and around the hood...

I get water splashing up from the front of the grill, not sure if its the radiator butterflies flipping open and closed at times. Seems to splash alot when slowing down

Normally? Or just when it's raining? Your radiator cap better not be opening and closing...

I noticed this also. I forgot about it until I just read your post. I think its coming from the grille. Toyota needs to figure out how to fix this.

I get it without a hood scoop. The water pools in the gallies on each side of the hood and when you stop it spills forward and then splashes up onto the windshield.

I don't have a scoop but I did find out a few things...
When driving at speed during rain, the water just pools up on the crevices of the hood and stays there (as long as you're not accelerating or decelerating). When you slow down, the pool of water flows down the crevice/lines to the front of the hood and as it falls off the front of the hood, the wind/air finally hits it and splashes a ton of water onto the windshield.

I realize the air doesn't touch the hood at all. The rain water barely moves when it lands on the hood. It's as if the air current goes over it

No not the cap, they have fins inside that open and close to help regulate radiator air flow if you look in the grill. Theyre electrical and flip open and closed. It will splash when raining or after a car wash

I don’t see any fins on my grill that open. Could you possibly put up a picture?
Thanks

You have a 4Runner sitting in your driveway. Why do you need a picture? Look, they are there
