It's probably easier to see on lighter colors. Happens at city street speeds too.
My guess is it happens on every trim level since they share the same general construction and material thicknesses.

My hood flutters on the Sport Premium. It's not a lot but it is there.

My 18' Tacoma Sport flutters significantly more and has not been an issue in the 93k miles its been driven.

The Tacoma gets pretty crazy at highway speeds when passing a semi in high wind conditions.

Took it to the dealership on June 12 to address the hood flutter issue (on top of the air dam falling off, windows electrical issue, and the squealing noise on brakes).
Dealership acknowledge the issue without a solution - the more people addresses this issue the sooner a TSB will be populated.
They blamed it on the scoop only affecting TRD Sports and PROs.... supposedly

dont expect hood flutter to be addressed.

4R hood flutter has been an issue on the 5th gen since the refresh in 2014 MY and newer.

my 2014 has it, and its windy everyday in ND. i dont even notice is anymore since it always there anyway.

What did they say about brakes?

My '21 Outback also "fluttered," and to a worse degree. Nothing bad ever came of it. I would suggest folks don't fixate on it as if it's some major QC issue that needs a fix. Otherwise, have fun spending hours trying to convince the dealer your car has some defect.

Dealer replicated the issue and opened a TAS for that. Basically they are requesting approval for a warranty fix. I doubt it will be addressed soon since there is no TSB for it yet. I will update with updates as I get them.

I noticed this on my Trailhunter the day I got it. It's more obvious when you're on the highway rather than in town.

We just need to live with it. Once you move on, life gets better. Being that they are made of aluminum ( I think ) equals less rigid. As said above Toyota will probably not do anything about it.
I imagine it gets more pronounced on the TRD Pro's fake hood scoop due to the weight, but once again, learn to live with it and move on. These trucks feel soooo solid everywhere else, it makes my 3rd gen feel like a soda can...... Same feel I had going from 1st gen to 3rd gen :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
