Are you using the following steps to program:

To add a code to your Ford keypad, you can program a personal entry code using the keypad:

Enter the five-digit factory-set code.

Within five seconds, press and hold 1 2 on the keypad for 1second. The 9/0 button will flash twice to indicate that the keypad is in programming mode.

Within five seconds, enter your five-digit personal code. Each digit must be entered within five seconds of the previous digit.

Press 1 2 to save your code. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that the code has been programmed. The 9/0 button will also flash twice to indicate that programming mode has ended

I can confirm that going through the touch-screen to change your code like the manual tells you does not work. Sure seems like someone dropped the ball on that part of it.

But the instructions above do work provided you have the factory access code card. Take your time, I had to go through it 4 times before it worked correctly with my new code number. It does not like you putting in the new code too fast. It also does not erase the factory code either.

This is my 7th Ford with the keypad and by far the worst working one of the the 7. Mine came with it, otherwise I would not have ordered one with it. Since this is battery operated and no instructions on how to change the battery, one can only wonder how long it will last. If you do not use this feature very often or really have a special need for it like some on here have stated, it is a waste of money.
