Ok maybe I'm missing something and yes I did read the manual. When using Nav and playing the radio (Sirius in this case) I can't hear the Nav give me direction commands, or maybe I can barely sorta hear something - coming from my Iphone? This is with both the Toyota Nav and Waze. What am I missing? In every other car I have had with Nav the music is temporarily muted and the commands are heard. 🤷‍♂️

Another thing I've noticed too. On my Ford Sync system, asking Siri something will automatically turn the volume down of whatever is playing, but this system isn't for whatever reason. So I have to remember to turn the radio down, before I speak something to siri, like to send a text message, etc. If there is something I'm missing here, let me know.

I don’t have my Pro yet, but the first thing I would suggest is what I do in my Ram pickup.

When the voice speaks to give you directions, turn the volume up at the same time. It should not affect your music volume - if the 4Runner system is similar to my Ram’s system.

I have an SR5 so not the fancy system you have, but mine absolutely does this (mutes audio when you engage siri). My Subarus do this too, across different head units, i think it's a standard behaviour, like the CarPlay standard probably requires that the head units respect this?

How is your phone paired? Are u running the latest iOS? Are you pairing with bluetooth or the cable? I typically use bluetooth, if it matters. What if you unpair/get the car to forget your phone and re-pair it?
